I would call that hit more elbow than glove. This was a WBC match and not a kick boxing match? Maybe it was the angle of the shot......I would like to have known the final judges decision.
Darn it that was a good elbow, though.......Like the way she covered it from the Ref......

For those that like boxing found the final decision 96-94, 96-93 and 97-92
Close match but the Champion kept her title.....Wonder what the score would have been if it were not fought in Japan. She did real good and did what she needed to do to keep her title.....

Believe me slamming an arm into the neck really hurts. I would suffer if I was in the looser in this case. Agree with Sarge about women punching. Though I have to agree with Judo & now Amateur Wrestling since both are Olympic sports.
Fortunately as an Amateur Wrestling Coach I turned down some teen age girls that asked me if I would help them form a team & teach them how to wrestle.
Sorry gals, for there are many places I reach for something or hit hard with my shoulder & those are PRIVATE places to females & not for men ESPECIALLY Coaches.

It sems a lot of you posters 1. seem threatened by women who appear strong and 2. believe that if a women doesn't fit your silly frilly image of a how you imagine a women should be, then they are weird.

Den_Den, form y part, it is a belief that there are sports that are made solely for women, and there are sports made solely for men. Boxing is the latter....
