They all look so puzzled, why? i don't know.

"They all look so puzzled, why? i don't know."

Overwhelming despair that they are involved in such a project, let alone required to plug it via soul-killing media rituals?

Japanese comedian Cunning Takeyama

And his connection with the movie is exactly what?

@jerseyboy

And his connection with the movie is exactly what?

Every movie premiere here is the same

That's why they're puzzled! They're thinking, "Who is this guy in the costume and why is he here?"

I liked TMNT when I was 10, loved the movie that came out then (being the intended audience). I'm a bit apprehensive about this one. The faces on the Turtles... a bit on the wrong side of the uncanny valley.

They look puzzled because they can't figure out why that tarento is standing next to them? I'm puzzled too - was he in the movie too?

It's as if there's an item in contracts for Hollywood movies released in Japan that there must be a photo-op of the cast with a B-list Japanese talento, no matter how unrelated the individual is to the film itself.

'Look. A Japanese 'celebrity' is involved. It must be OK!'

Oh, the insecurity...

@MissingCylonModel. You are still the intended audience, go see it, you will enjoy the film. I too was skeptical, but was quite surprised how fun it was. Yea, its way over the top, but you should expect that from 2 meter tall, talking, fighting turtles. Recently talked a group of friends and family into watching it, all of them were hesitant. They all enjoyed it.

Cowabunga, Dude!

They're Lost In Translation, of course!

("....mumble mumble katakana mumble, please?")

Will: "What's she asking? I don't understand!" Megan: "I don't either. And why did that other guy say to dress like we were going to the Playboy Mansion?! Everyone else is in turtle costumes!"

Speaking of Japanese entertainment Blasts from the Past: in case you missed it, yesterday in Los Angeles County, a Red Power Ranger murdered his roommate...with his sword! Google it if you doubt me!

Most times when you see the tarentos at the movies premiere because they did some "Voice Over" work for the Japanese audience. Usually half of the screen showings or more are dubbed in Japanese, or you have the option to watch the movie in English with Japanese subtitles.

Hahaha! Love it! Cunning Takeyama and all the starved for air time and cash talentos always fascinate me. They will act bat-poop-crazy for any movie, any product, anytime, anywhere for a fraction of the cost (and hotness) of a Megan Fox.

I see the presence of a Japanese talento who has served in a voiceover role on the movie concerned as 100% legitimate.

However, from these photo-ops we are blessed with here, countless times we can see the featured talento has no connection to the film whatsoever, except the photo-op.

So, did 'comedian Cunning Takeyama' play any role in the production of the film, or is he simply an event prop?

Funny hats! funny costumes!! Bright spectacles!! Loud noises!! lots of shouting!! Can't people just be dignified and wear a suit once in awhile? It looks so childish and laughable.

They looked puzzled because the movie was a flop and yet the studio still thinks people are going to watch it.

It's a razzie folks. You'd be better off watching it from your favorite streaming or download site. It's not worth 1800 yen. As a 500yen rental or less it's pretty good for a case of boredom.
