Wow, no offense, but I thought he was dead.
If his chords are stil making money and he's enjoying it - why not?

I went to it. Great show. Lead and vocals both really good with good energy. Some of the extended tracks were fantastic. Just wish it had been a bit louder. No ear ringing sound this morning. Spoiler ahead....no guitar smashing.

Perhaps that's because Townsend has lost most of his hearing due to overexposure to noise. He's trying to help out his fans by not wrecking their hearing too.

Man, I'd go rock out to that for sure. What was the damage on a ticket?

A kind thought that Pete cares but I think it's much more likely there is a limit on the volume. Every stadium concert I've been to here has been on the low side. I mean it is THE WHO. Imagine if it were Black Sabbath or Deep Purple. I wonder if they turned it up, would Japanese fans complain. And the atmosphere before you go in is almost like going to a speech or lecture. Maybe the organizers keep the volume down to keep things calm and controlled. Well, different country.

Wish I could see them. Saw them in Seattle when the Ox was still alive. It was a great show. Unfortunately never saw Moonie. Seeing them all together would have been amazing. I'm glad they aren't playing in the Tokyo Dome, what a crappy place for a concert. Come to think of it, that was one of the minuses when I saw them in Seattle. It was in the Kingdome. Now that was a bad place for a concert.
11,000 yen is not a bad price.

I just re-read the article. 19 songs? Seems short. Of course some of their songs are pretty long. How long did the show last?

I agree, seeker1; I've seen The Stones and Pink Floyd at the Kingdome, and the acoustics are trash. But still, a great time overall!
Pete is very firm in his discussions about hearing loss, and has advocated against our wearing of loud headphones. But then let's not forget Keith Moon deafened Pete in his right ear back in the 70's when Keith packed his kick drum full on explosives and lit it off without giving notice on the Smothers Brothers TV show. A classic rock moment!

Holey snappin duck poop! I thought he died in the 80's! The Who will always be on the 'classic rock' list.

Sushi - "I thought he was dead"
You're confusing Pete with Keith Moon.

Dude, stuff like that just doesn't happen any more. BTW, 11,000yen isn't bad for a band that's gonna likely charge up worth of $250 (probably more) in the states. Rock on.
