I for one think this is pretty amazing. If Taro Yukitake's performance includes holding the above position for any length of time, that is quite a feat. That takes a great deal of body control to accomplish! Good for Mr. Yukitake for making his little corner of the world a more interesting place to be in!

I've watched performers like this before. Always admire how they can hold such weird positions for such a long time. The one the Thinker above is doing isn't easy ... look at the strain in his leg muscles. Probably most of us observers wouldn't last a second in that position ...

The right elbow should be near the left knee!

I don't particulary feel anything about his performance, but this kind of art is often done and now being done at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.

He's thinking, " I wish I'd studied harder at school".

Thumbs down all you want, but I still think street performance is cool and I think this guy's performance is quite amazing. What have you thumbs downers done to make your world a more interesting and pleasant place?

The original statue is a very difficult representation of man thinking - beautifully carved and polished from a large block of stone. This guy is squatting in a park; a representation of a representation of reality. Not very original but certainly not easy to do. Just need someone to make a painting of him, imitating the statue, representing a man engaged in a common human activity.
