    "Models walk on the runway"

I've never understood why that's called a runway. I've never seen even one model run on the "runway" - they walk, they prance, they even do a little sashay, but they never run!

"it's good to know some are unscathed in the downturn times"

    Recession? What recession?

Catwalk is the usual term for the model's walkway, named after their supposedly slinky, cat-like way of walking. These are often elevated above the audience, and are occasionally called ramps. Runway is used for the wider, often audience-level walkway.

Guys, make sure you go to the next one. Dress up nice, have fake business cards (editor of overseas fashion magazine) and go nuts. Trust me. I walked away with phone numbers of girls I have no right talking to. And with my lofty status, it's only going to get better.

Looks like what I see everyday on the train station runways/catwalks/platforms. Not complaining! Pretty interesting to gawk at and often makes me smile. The dudes, too.

slinky, cat-like way of walking. What does that mean? Cats walk like all other 4 legged animals. Slinky can only be done by sexy females. Japanese girls are sexy, but walling sexy if not one they can do. They do not know how to wiggle their hips, nor strut their butts. I love em anyway.

Really? I always thought it was called that because models tend to be catty.
