Tokyo Girls Collection

Tokyo Girls Collection

Transsexual TV personality Ai Haruna, 37, and several male models take part in the Tokyo Girls Collection at Yokohama Arena over the weekend. The wildly popular biannual fashion show, which went for about six hours, featured top models and celebrities wearing ‘‘kawaii’’ (cute) fashions. Celebrity models included Becky, Aki Hoshino, Beckii Cruel and Rinka.

I want to say something but right now I am speechless. But I will say he is pretty good looking.

Has she had an operation? I thought she was just a good cross dresser but she's wearing a bikini without an noticeable things.

  • 0

    stevecpfc

Everyone to their own. Not my cup of tea.

  • 0

    goddog

    Strange.

  • 0

    smithinjapan

Whatever. I have my doubts they're celebrating her for her talent, as I've seen her on TV a few times. She's rather clever, but methinks she's treated more like something on display, hence she is never introduced by her name but by, "Transexual TV personality..." and THEN her name. In fact, I've no doubt at all that IS her claim to fame.

I notice there are no Japanese male models.

Haha....guessing where you all looked straight away is a safe bet.

    > Has she had an operation?

    Yes he is post op.

  • 0

    newsninja

37y.o - & last year... s/he won "Transvestite Miss World 2009"... this could just be the hidden secret gem & future "leading export" item in the arsenal that helps the Japanese economy recover... the "win" at the TMW09 also came with a gift certificate for "surgical procedures" - albeit i believe he had already "addressed" the issue, so to speak... usually has a brimming smile on her dial...

This might have something to do with Japanese perception, the idea that everyone has a place and to a place everyone. Think about it, everyone on Japanese TV has a title, whether it be "talent," "actress" or "company present." They even put "announcer" on the name of TV station employees so no body misunderstands their position in the greater scheme of things.

Looking at the photo, however, I cannot understand why the supporting cast are not wearing gloves.

They would all look too short compared to the star!

  • 0

    ratpack

Whats the little fella at the back looking at??

  • 0

    Debucho

I notice there are no Japanese male models

Haruna Ai is considered somethign of a freak by the Japanese, so they use gaijin models.

Japan is a deck of cards, with people properly slotted in to their spot. We gajin are the jokers. Nobody knows where we fit in.

    Know your place.

  • 0

    dolphingirl

Finally, some hot guys in the picture of the day!!

  • 0

    Papigiulio

Haruna is a funny character, no matter post op guy/girl.

  • 0

    pawatan

I think she's reasonably entertaining. For supposedly being a "freak show" she's sure been in a lot of magazines and on TV a lot.

  • 0

    BurakuminDes

Transsexuals are currently the "boom" thing on Japanese TV. They replaced Korean dramas as the "boom" some time last year. I wonder what the next boom here will be? BTW, I think he is disgusting - but each to his/her own I guess.

  • 0

    dammit

What a disgusting way to dress! And I would most definitely have the same opinion if she'd been born female.

Simply being a man who has a sex change doesn't give you the right to dress like that, it's totally trashy. And what the heck is she wearing on her feet?

Anyway, what programmes is she on? I don't recognise her face so I assume I've never come across her onscreen.

i hate to admit it. but i think she s cute and has an adorable personality....aaghhh

  • 0

JT, I am sorry to ask but....do we address the person, (Haruna)in this case, a he or she? before I post any comment.

  • 0

    bobbafett

I would not touch Harunas post op even if we were in prison together for 20 years....well, maybe.

    BurakuminDes

Why do you hate to admit it? It's the truth. She's hot!

MrUSA - check out Thailand, brother. There are some bars there I think you would love!

  • 0

    cozi123

Haruna is actually beautiful. but she is a man. uuuh, I am just confused. Anybody want to be her/his boy fireind?

  • 0

    BurakuminDes

I find her Adam's apple very alluring!

  • 0

    sensei258

Somebody please tell me there's no Oscar Meyer under there. Otherwise, looks hot from here.

  • 0

    Sarge

She's a transsexual - there's no Oscar Mayer under there.

  • 0

    Pukey2

What I find refreshing about this photo is that we have male models who look like MEN. Some muscles, none of that stupid dyed, feminine Kimutaku hairstyle, no stick-like bodies. Plus, we have Haruna representing the Japanese female population AND having curves. She may have been born a man, but the she looks more woman and more curvaceous than these typical stick insects. Didn't we have one with real skinny legs the other day on JT? I bet if you'd ask her to put her feet together and then throw a football through the middle of legs, the ball would go right through her. Women NEED curves.

    Burakumin:

No doubt if you didn't know she was born a man, you'd be lusting at her.

  • 0

    Carcharodon

A few beers and a dark bar, and if you didn't know about her deal, you would think she was pretty hot and probably try it on and end up like England Rugby star Danny Cipriani who got sucked in by a transexual and now will never live it down.

  • 0

    BurakuminDes

Burakumin:No doubt if you didn't know she was born a man, you'd be lusting at her.

No, not possible Pukey: He's not my type! I like my women real, not sculpted by the scalpel! And, he could probably beat me up too! I must say, Haruna keeps in great shape though - and that is to be applauded for anyone - especially at 37 when many these days have let themselves go. Lots of gym work there.

  • 0

    sirgamble

    She's pretty hot...

  • 0

    Kalinin

A transsexual to show women clothes? Oh God... this world is lost =/ A man is always a man, it doesn't matter if he cut his... -.-" **** this! -.-

  • 0

    flavorflav

what's the big deal with a picture of six men?

  • 0

    usaexpat

Good for her, Japan is actually way more mature on the whole transgender thing than America is. My wife's cousin lives as a man and is much happier, sometimes nature does get it wrong.

  • 0

    adaydream

usaexpat, you're correct in your post.

    As to me, she's a knock-out. I wouldn't turn her away. < :-)

  • 0

    Blue_Tiger

'Scuse me while I go throw up.....

  • 0

    Dubya

Disgusting! I have never seen him on TV, tell me what stations she is on, so I can block the channel.

  • 0

    gogogo

She won Miss Queen international last year, judging from this photo she has the parts of a woman.

    http://www.asianbite.com/photos/haruna-ai-bikini_20287.jpg

  • 0

    Blue_Tiger

Just because she may have the parts, it doesn't make her a woman....

  • 0

    adaydream

But wouldn't it be interesting to examine her, strictly for scientific purposes you understand.

Yeah I know the DNA doesn't make her a girl, but if she walks like a girl and plays like a girl.... she's a girl. < :-)

  • 0

    JayJayE

Each to their own, the philosophy lost on some. If she truly has GID then good for her. I personally don't understand, but that doesn't make her immoral by any means.

And it is a HER. If she's legally a woman and she fine with what she's become, so be it. Personally though, I feel the hype of "new half" in Japan subtracts from those just wanted to live "under the radar" as perfectly normal humans. I do dislike the showcasing of "new halves" not because I'm against them being who they are, I'm just against the media (especially J-media) making celebs out of anyone they can.

And she is hot. But I am married.

ps a lot of homophobia here, but thankfully not too much.

  • 0

    vulcan

Hmm, doesn't Japan have male models? Why get foreign ones?

  • 0

    Madara

Don't care bout the homophobes out there, I realy like Ai Haruna.

  • 0

    usaexpat

Ai Haruna is a woman guys as in correct parts for the clothes. She may not have been born that way but if you didn't tell me I wouldn't know. For the record I would have no problem taking her home for the night, she's beautiful.

  • 0

    ritalynn

She looks great. Much better than some of those other girls you see on here.

And why no Japanese models? They couldn't find at least one?

  • 0

    XXXXX

whats oscar meyer? whos beckii cruel? why must they use the word/s 'new half'?

  • 0

    Molenir

Sorry, but cutting bits off, and legally changing gender, does not mean his gender has actually been changed. Still, its none of my business, as long as the guy is happy in his new life, and no one else is injured.

However if I found that the 'girl' I was dating was a guy, I would be very sick, and the relationship would be over. So I sincerely hope he manages to find someone more open minded then me.

  • 0

    Kalinin

I can't believe that some ppl call this "woman", for me this ofend any woman -_- He does not have woman parts, he "bought" somewhere, if you birth a man you are a man... nature does not do it "wrong"! guys open your eyes... if you all could see what is going on with the world around you...

  • 0

    wontond

To all that's posted homophobic comments...we get it, you don't like homosexuals/transgender. Stop over-compensating and move on.

  • 0

    Icewind007

Wow, from this picture, if it was captioned with some random "Girl model struts her stuff on stage...", I would have never thought that that was a man...

Kind of scary now that I think of it...

  • 0

    flatearther

As a born woman, I would love to have a body like Ai Haruna's! Whatever she paid, it was money well spent. Who cares what her birth gender was?

  • 0

    paulinusa

I have heard of babies who had elements of both male and female.Recently there was South African woman runner named Castor Semenya who was rumored to be in that catagory. Obviously, Ai Haruna had an operation, but the scientific difference between men and woman isn't a clear line. It can definitely be a bit blurry.

  • 0

    SpanishEyez37

I think she's cute. And so what she's a TS.

  • 0

    SpanishEyez37

P.S. Those who make the homophobic comments, wonder how many of those you see in Thailand romping around with the ''ladyboys''.

At least Ai is confortable in her skin and happy. How many out there can say that?

  • 0

    cactusJack

His cranium looks out of proportion to his torso. He basically looks like a man starving himself.

  • 0

    grafton

I am not sure what the mechanism is that is built into many of us, but I am really not at all comfortable with the idea of waking up in the morning to discover that the girl I took to bed the night before is a construct and was once a man. No, that is not politically correct thinking, sorry, but that is how I am made and no I have no plans on having an operation to change that. As a picture of a good-looking sexy woman, fine, but as a partner in a relationship, no way.

  • 0

    HonestDictator

Well post op or not I think there are still are probably missing that would make this person really a woman. I for one can't wait until the operation is so perfected all one has to do is throw a switch and just remove the brain from a male body into a fully funtional cloned female body or vice versa. But this snip snip, hormone injecting, alternating sex change as it is makes me sick.

I'm pretty sure any man thats not really interested in transexuals will come across some very unwelcome suprises.

  • 0

    HonestDictator

Sure are a lot of non Japanese models up there though... hmmm did they turn it down, and the gaijin models weren't told the score behind the hostess?

  • 0

    Kalinin

I don't know what makes me more sick: the flu that I got at this moment, your coments agreeing with this, or this man who wants to be a woman.... Hm... I'll stay with the 2 last options... wake up guys... wake up... we didn't birth to live/agree with this... -.-"

  • 0

    meloveulongtime

that is one hot lady!!! So sexy...

They scared her/him on a variety show I was watching once. His/her real voice is actually quite deep...

it would only be fair if some of the "men" were actually former "women".... hmm...
