All you "wannabees" be prepared for reality. There's no guarantee that you'll be selected to a spot in the race even if you want it. I heard its something like 10-1 odds against it. And be sure to apply ASAP, if you wait too long, the odds increase. Same as the Ome Marathon, Shogatsu, Golden Week, and Summer vacation airplane reservations etc.

My only criticism of the event is that it is a shame that the end of the race is so desolate. Wouldn't it be nice if the race ended with a decent size crowd watching? I'm guessing that the logistics would be too painful.

Being shouted at for several hours while you run on a crowed street just doesn't seem like that much fun to me.
