Student Ayana Kaneda, 21, left, and model Misaki Tanabe, 21, are the new image girls for lingerie maker Triumph International Japan in 2012. The two women, who were chosen from 246 applicants, will promote the company’s lingerie brand from Nov 1 to October 2012.

These girls are not good for this kind of show especially when makers try to make lingerie look sexy.
Japanese girls will never be sexy. They can be truly beautiful, lovely, inviting, charming or I could write this page full about things I can love in them, but not sexy. They shouldn't even try to look sexy, they are simply not that kind.
Especially in this photo the girls with those cheap tasteless trinkets around their necks and the girl on the left in that black stuff, holding grandpa's walking stick with that disgusting black fossil waif on her head which was brought up to surface from the sank Titanic.
The girl on the right with boyish body and flat bum otherwise has a truly lovely smile she is probably lovely too, just should remove that jellyfish from the the top of her head, make her look like a Medusa.
Ps. If there is a stupid thing I have ever seen when Japanese girls with beautiful black eyes dye their hair red. Such a mismatch.

Personally I like to see pictures like this for comparison purposes - just checking how do I measure up these days??! In a former life I did actually model underwear believe it or not! 15 years and 3 kids later I am not in this league, but still some life left in here yet I hope!
It is particularly nice to see a girl (the one on the left) actually with something to model underwear with, instead of the usual rake thin body. She looks curvy and healthy.

Over the years, Triumph International have invented or made many weird, strange and bizarre bras in their endless advert stunts. I remember one which could be used for growing rice. They should reintroduce that one, and hand it out free to all the Fukushima girls to grow rad free rice. We would all buy that one, all except one, that is, and he don't eat rice anyway?
The latest plan from Triumph International is to recycle used bras and turn bra power into electrical power, as if we are not already charged enough by their advert photo's. They will build an incinerator to burn the used bras to generate steam to produce power. Doing their bit to help hold up the nation and stop it from sagging?

I visit a few sites where both genuine Japanese girls and impersonating trolls take part.
It is obvious. Ok, generalisation time but prove me wrong (yes, that is how you spell it)
Japanese girls dont have that kind of sense of humour or use those turns of phrase (making heads turn?)
Japanese women both online or in real life never give a genuine opinion on other women in public. You wont get much more than a "kawaii." In private they may give their true feelings, but certainly not in front of hundreds of people to read.
Japanese women tend to give their opinions in a form of a question - that way they cant be accused of being too forward. A statement on a picture like this would more likely be "Do you think she is cute?" not "bolooded beautiful" or whatever.
Hate me yeah, but what I say is true.

I actually find the pic very interesting from a female perspective because one girl is very very thin, and one is very curvy-looking. Many women (myself included) dream of being as thin as the one on the right. I DID get that tiny for a time, and it was the holy grail I had been after all those years (even when modelling!) but once I got there it just didnt look good at all. All bones and no curves. I look back at pics of me now, and I have only put on 2 kilos since then but it has made a huge difference. I look healthy now.
The girl on the left is much more like my body type now, but she looks better to me - much healthier. We women put so much pressure on ourselves to be super-slim, and yet most of the men I know and speak to objectively on the subject seem to prefer curvier shapes.
It is hard to be a western woman in Japan, even as a former model. These Japanese girls look so good and age so beautifully. You have to have rock-solid self-esteem to live here and avoid it getting to you!

I actually really like Triumph stuff. They are a lot more "mature" than the silly frilly frou frou bits you find in places like Amos, but still very sexy and elegant. I also like Wacoal here - they are pretty good too.
Triumph used to have the image of Granny Pants/Schtoppenfloppen/big baggy flesh-coloured undies in the UK, but they have totally reinvented themselves and their stuff seems to combine good "technology" with style now. Not cheap but very good quality.
I had my husband buy me some underwear once - just to see if he would do it! Bless him, he did! He was only about 29 at the time, and mortified, but that was what I wanted so that was what he got.
@Ivan: I dont quite know whether to laugh or be repulsed! I am going to opt for laughing but lemme give you a top tip from a chick who knows: admiring our form and style is VERY flattering and likely to get you way past first base - announcing you are then going off to choke the chicken/yank the plank/spank the monkey/ whatever you like to call it on our behalf is NOT!

My favorite item of underwear to buy for a Japanese lady is the "O-back".
If you can persuade your Japanese lady friend to try on an O-back (usually not too difficult after the initial feigned reluctance and giggling have died down) then it really is a fun item and you're both guaranteed some good times :-)
Triumph should add it to their collection...

However some of the mature Japanese women in their 40s whom I have had the pleasure of interacting with have been absolutely the sexiest creatures imaginable... in mind, body shape, behavior... everything!

Thanks for seconding my first post, you seem to be the only one. I also explained in my following post the same thing that you said, that sexiness comes from within and is written on their faces, in their look and in their body language, it's just the moderator removed my post.
Otherwise, I can't really understand why it is considered negative. Instead of sexiness the Japanese women have some freshness and many other inviting feminine values. Why do they think it is nasty or degrading not to be sexy as if sexiness were the only mark of a woman.
Why is it a problem if a woman cannot look or be sexy but have many different values?
It's no problem at all, the only problem when they hide or disregard many of their own hidden values and trying to be sexy even when it just doesn't go and washes away their other values.

No, my friend you haven't read them all, simply because our short exchange of thoughts with another poster in which we have discussed and explained that thing was removed from this board although what he said made a lot of sense to me.
Now in other words, I can use absolutes and can say "Japanese girls will never be sexy." the same way I can say for sure that "you will never teach an ostrich fly" or yet, if you do and will fly, it will not be an ostrich any more.
And the same way I can say for sure when I am discussing people i.e. your attributes "I will never convince you that it's correct to use absolutes"

I love Japanese women and sometimes I have this wow effect... But me too cannot say that they are sexy or presented sexy... they just don't have the attidtude for it. When I'm walking in Nagoya or Osaka and see them wearing short skirts, I cannot help but look, but stil don't find them sexy. But in Brazil for example it is completely different. A Brazilian woman doesn't need to wear miniskirt or underwear to be sexy. I think it is in the moves, the way they walk and talk and look at you.... this makes a woman special and sexy. And above all, natural. In São Paulo are many Japanese descendents and they too can look extremely sexy. Why? Because they took over the way of other Brazilian women and they too are natural beauties....
