Children and their parents, including those who survived the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan, pull an All Nippon Airways Boeing 767 during a tug-of-war, held as part of the “cheer up northeastern Japan” events, at Haneda Airport on Thursday. The event was part of the Children’s Day national holiday.

This is wonderful to see! Children love these kinds of stuff, big planes, ships and stuff. I remember when I was small, I used to love these kinds of things. Good on All Nippon Airways, see the children smiling, that's just perfect!

JT should have published the later photo, the one where they actually got the plane to takeoff speed.

Later they will tie that rope to a big boat on a roof and pull it down. That would be a thrill to watch.

LOL. Reminds me of when we convinced the stick of Marines on the CH-46 we were in that we were having starter problems and that they needed to get out and push us down the tarmac so we could pop the clutch and 'push start' the engines like on a car with a manual transmission... : )
