Uncle Carl

Former pro wrestler Animal Hamaguchi does his cheerleading routine as his wife and Uncle Carl look on during a promotional event in Tokyo on Tuesday for the 3D Disney Pixar film “Up” (titled Uncle Carl’s Flying Home for Japan). At back, from left, are the animated film’s story supervisor, Ronnie Del Carmen, producer Jonas Rivera, director Pete Docter and co-director Bob Peterson. “Up” will be the closing film for this month’s Tokyo International Film Festival and open nationwide on Dec 5.

    open nationwide on Dec 5

It is Dec 5 2009 or Dec 5 2010? Because if it is 2009 it is too early, after all the movie was released on May 29 in USA. They should wait for summer 2010 or Christmas 2010...as usual...this is a perfect film for Christmas 2010 or Christmas 2011.

The Blu Ray and the DVD will be available on Nov 10 in USA...before the the japanese theatrical release... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1049413/

And you keep wondering why people download movies...

Now i get the feeling that Tokyo lost 2016 Olympic bid due to Animal Hamaguchi's presence in Copenhagen.

Release date... 05 December 2009. Japan really needs to bring these dates closer.

Does anyone know why the Japanese version has such a long title name compared to "Up".

Does anyone know why the Japanese version has such a long title name compared to "Up".

    Perhaps because "This is Japan!"...???

Is "Animal" Hamaguchi the full quid?

  • GenevaMan at 02:39 AM JST - 7th October

When Animal Hamaguchi was cheering his daughter during the Olympics, I bet she was so embarassed... must have been funny to attend a Sunday lunch with them after the games.

This is one time the Japanese title is better than the original.
