    For shame, Tessa! 'That place', as you put it, is one of the most awesome sights in Kyoto. No excuse for not knowing its name - Fushimi Inari Shrine, with its 1000 torii, featured in the movie, 'Life of a Geisha'. Every time I'm in Kyoto (and that's at least once a year) I take the 4km hike up and around, stopping of course at the top for prayers.

    Every shrine in Japan there is art least one torii. But this many toriis. very rare.
