A woman looks at a poster with photos of Tatsuya Ichihashi, who is wanted in connection with the death of Briton Lindsay Hawker, at Gyotoku police station in Ichikawa, east of Tokyo, on Friday. Police released a new photo of the fugitive that was taken last month at a Nagoya clinic before he underwent cosmetic surgery there. He apparently had at least one face-lift elsewhere, police said.

LoveUSA,
In an ideal world I agree with you. People who seek to reform themselves under the knife are suffering from more internally than their own perceived external difficulties.
In the case of Ichihashi, some doctors somewhere definitely took money knowing exactly who he is. I hope the cops find the mongrel and jail him/her.

I think it's a very good thing they are a least posting his picture. Better than nothing.

The surgeons and his parents should be arrested for assisting a known murderer.

True, it's a cruel face of the society not only Ichihashi.

Better than nothing. But any bets on the count down. I say next to never.

"A woman looks at a poster..."
Actually, it appears a woman is walking through a door and ignoring a poster.

I agree with palmersun.
I see the bounty's been raised to 10 million yen.
LoveUSA at 11:46 AM JST - 7th November
Come, Ichihashi, let me meet you, I need these 10 million yens. Do you need my telephone number?

Looks like a job for Dwayne "The Dog" Chapman.

If the J-cops want to catch this nut, all they have to do is start by arresting the plastic surgeons and all others that have helped him including his parents for aiding and abetting a felon. I assume under Japan's law, ignoracne of the law is no excuse (someone correct me if I am wrong). As soon as his money starts to dry up, since I believe he probably lived a "sheltered" life, that he will not be able to survive long and will either 1)commit suicide or 2)turn himself in.

"A woman is captured not noticing a poster of blah blah...etc"
Cherryblossomgirl at 06:44 PM JST - 7th November
I think that someone seems to help him to escape or gave him money for the plastic surgeond .

Come off it! If it's made illegal, the whole Japanese tarento industry would collapse. We'd be left with the likes of Harisenbon and Mitsuura Yasuko.

How about a thorough background check and an established fingerprint database before performing any reconstructive-type or plastic surgeries? On the fingerprints and etc., they should be establishing who a person is before doing any work.
Icantbelieveit at 02:21 PM JST - 8th November
funny, she's not even looking at the poster.
