It is good to see the happiness these children have and to see the Japanese flag. When will the schools start to fly the flag every day and teach the students to sing the national anthem? Pride in the country and its future are more important than living in the past.

noriyosan73,
For once, I couldn't agree more!
I think this is not necessary to achieve the above.

noriyosan73,
Japan will love its flag etc when they are allowed to instead of forced too, not hard really

I heard a TV commentator boldly claiming this morning on the news that Japan "will easily get 13 golds."
Why do they insist on setting their squad up for failure?

Ah! The heartfelt enthusiasm of expats. Lovely always--no matter which nationality you claim--to be touched by home while away.

yes, these are the same people that will be calling Japan's olympic committee like they have in the past complaining about not enough gold medals.

I wonder how many Japanese people I'll see on Thursday heading for the football at Hampden? Oh, wait, got a driving lesson that day... bugger >.<

Now that's just silly. Why would they take the LONG way around the globe to get to London?

I was just trying to be funny, if you have ever been to Hawaii, the airport seems like a little Narita?? or Japan?? But hey, I guess many Japanese must be living in work and live out their in the UK, so good for them, maybe they will be able to help translate etc..for the Japanese athletes too??
