When you gotta go

An employee of Japanese toilet maker TOTO sits on a "Toilet Bike Neo" at the company's showroom in Fujisawa, near Tokyo, on Thursday. TOTO rolled out the eco-friendly three-wheel 250cc motorcycle with a specially customized toilet-shaped seat that runs on bio-fuel from the discharge of livestock or waste water.

Really usefull when stuck in a major traffic jam. And what's with the pointy crash helmet?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Of course they did. Where is the button that has the little arm come out a squirt water up your butt?

Would have looked cooler if the toiletpaper holder was the headlight. Next time get help from American Chopper.

Can that gal even reach the footpegs?

This will be a great hit in Bangkok and other Asian cities with traffic jams...

I think I prefer to perform my ablutions in a slightly more private setting.

But, each to his own.

wheres the privacy curtain?

One of top ten funny pics of the year here... love the baby toilet and spare roll on the back. You would be a national hit on TV in the US driving up 95 on this. People would be rolling in laughter but not sure about the cops. As for Japanese toilets I have been hooked for well over a decade. Clean bums and warm seats in the winter are my kind of thing.

I can imagine using that on "Route 66" where it will no doubt be very useful. Barstow to Vegas, yep, I can definitely see the potential. Now all TOTO has to think of is how to be able to unzip your pants while driving 140km per hour. Does that thing even have toilet paper or it's not needed?

A.w.e.s.o.m.e. I would like to purchase one for tonight.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

It would suck if you were stuck behind this bike going through the Tokyo aqualine:)

"that runs on bio-fuel from the discharge of livestock or waste water."

It would be cooler if it ran on your own waste.

looks like she just finished a number 2

And once again Japan wins world's worst invention of the year!

SimonB: The 'pointy thing' on the top of her helmet looks like one of those cartoony poops people here often doodle, so to speak.

kurumazaka: Very good point about the pantsless thing! I doubt this would ever go into production anyway, though, like the cooling bras and what have you.

does it run on methane?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Ridiculously funny ... or just ridiculous.

Toto really did it. I see a great future before us. Vehicles run on human waste. Cars, trucks, buses, trains and plane all outfitted with toilets instead of regular seats. On planes it will be just great. No more standing on one leg while someone preens in the restroom. Only there might be problems. Remember the Air France jet that made an emergency landing in Syria of all places and the staff asked for donations to buy fuel. Well, in the bright future the staff would pass out spicy curry to get more fuel, though landing in Syria would make anyone s***.

Yes, Toto, what a great contribution to humanity. Not only will the world's ecology be saved but humanity will regain the dignity of the Romans, who had no inhibitions about evacuating in public.

Thank you Japan Today for posting this photograph. A truly unique design. The model is cute. I am sure the pointed helmet is symbolic, but of what I'd rather not speculate.

Well, when you gotta go.... when you're on the go...

@Kurumazaka

Thanks, I never thought of that. Makes perfect sense. I'm telling you, get it patented!! There's a whole lot of cash to be made.

I think a 250cc single-cylinder engine would make it somewhat underpowered for moving all that weight, especially considering that it gets heavier, not lighter, the longer one drives it.

The poo-helm is a nice touch.

And once again, the only J-bashing comment on the thread. No doubt South Korea will be copying it and claiming they invented it.

Posters: The toilet does not function, it is just a seat.

lol, only in japan... country's going green alright...

A waste of wheels...

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Actually in November 2011, a male "potty rider" accomplished the trip of approximately 1,400 kilometers across Japan using this Toilet Bike Neo (prototype).

Has anyone noticed the humongous roll of paper mounted vertically on the back? Also, it seems you would have a semi-permanent red ring on your tush for sitting so long on this seat. Attractive!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Only one serious question left: does it come with a bidet and seat warmer??

A waste of wheels...

No Pamelot, it's waste **on ***wheels.

I have seen weirder at some Bike rallies, like a Trike build around a bathtub, etc.

Said that I like the Idea.

Funny. The expression on her face reminds me of a kidding going, "O!, I made a poopie mama."

3 ( +3 / -0 )

**For this uh, "contraption" to work, one would have to ride bottomless.

This is exactly what leather chaps are for.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The model´s look is priceless.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I want to see the outlaw biker version.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Bio-fuel, OK! Three wheels, OK! A toilet? Why? Can the rider use his or her own poop to power the bike?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I just noticed the... er... object on top of her helmet, as if the toilet-bike isn't daft enough. I love the girl's expression... that is priceless ^_^

0 ( +0 / -0 )

They should have got Monster Garage to make it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The helmet looks like poopies painted white.

This is beyond words. The concept is bizarre.

But hey, could be a step on the way to borg- ification of the human race.

Cruel bosses at TOTO making an employee do this. Of course they forced a woman to do it... none of the guys in the office would step up I bet. Having said that, it is pretty funny.

California's emissions standards are set by the California Air Resources Board so not much chance of seeing these being used by the California Highway Patrol in future.

You can get a better look at whats on top of the helmet on their adverts, seems to be a few on You Tube. Here's a link to one

This is TOTALLY useful when there is a sudden six-car pile-up right in front of you on the highway. Seeing as you'll be sh**ing bricks anyways... may as well have a place to put it. ;-)

The Worst Innovation of 2012!!

US is already in Self Navigating/Driving car production in 2012.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Bah its just a silly gimmick to make us laugh. I just can't stand this type of potty humor though... what a pile of mechanical c***.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The boys in R&D have way too much time on their hands. I noticed that the employee/model has no wedding ring and she probably volunteered so she could get some scataholics to contact her for a date or marriage proposal. I heard that TOTO plans to make a side car version of it next month.
