70 S Korean, Japanese lawmakers call for FTA agreement
SEOUL —
Seventy lawmakers from South Korea and Japan agreed Monday to work together to bring about a free trade agreement between the two countries at an early date, Yonhap news agency reported in Seoul.
The group, belonging to the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians’ Union, met in Seoul and issued a statement calling on both governments to work toward a free trade pact, Yonhap reported. Free trade negotiations between Japan and South Korea have been on and off since 2003.
The group also called for Pyongyang to settle the issue of Japanese citizens abducted by the North.

What a joke... these guys are just posing. Both countries want to protect the same things. This would be a FTA in name only.
