"We heard people’s voices calling for me to push on with Abenomics,”

Good greif,he's starting to sound like the emperor Caligula..... The man is insane. How can the media take this quote seriously? Whose voices were calling for 'Abenomics', apart from the ones in his own head ?

Abe, the man who wants to rewrite history books to cover up the atrocities committed by his grandfather's generation, to recreate patriotism, to rewrite the constitution so that Japan return to being a military power, who wants to make his rich friends richer, the poor poorer and cut out the middle class, who has put in a secrecy act that gives him the right to define what is secret or not and punish accordingly.

He's to be "reelected?"

It's all decided then.

Japanese people, please, please open your eyes.

Does the world really need another fascist dictator, an Abe/Kim?

Ah, yes! The voices shouting "Abenomics" we're not in his head. The voices were his crony mates in the diet.

I seriously feel this guy is the worst thing that has happened to Japan in a long time. He has no charisma (Like Koizumi had) he has no new ideas or anything to offer that will help Japan in the long run, and he tries to take the place back to a 1930's mindset. All is wrong here.

Merry Christmas.

It will be safe to say "Self-elected"

“We heard people’s voices calling for me to push on with Abenomics,” he told a news conference following the election. “I will carry out economic measures powerfully and boldly.”

From hedge-fund speculators no doubt.

Housing loan subsidies, and student tuition support are positives. 'Re-imagining', that's a new one, not sure what that means.

Ah, the new China! Yes, yes, Abe... 'the People'. The same people who said they don't want you to change the constitution, but you will anyway. The same people who asked you to stop antagonizing China and South Korea, but you do anyway. The same people who were against the Secrets Law, but that you passed anyway. Those voices?

Where were these multitudes on voting day?

Housing loan subsidies, and student tuition support are positives., Noooo! you need to stop spending and get your deficit down not increase it !!!, Japanese government needs to to get a grip on spending, make thinks more efficient, (like farming) local government/ councils will need to cut back on spending,

Hi Brian W, Need to have detailed sight into the supplementary budget worth some 3 trillion yen ($25 billion) due to be announced later in the week, but expect any fresh measures to be squeezed and scraped from existing budgets....

Regarding housing loan subsidies and tuition support for students.... One fundamental element into turning the tide of Japan depopulation crisis is access to affordable housing for young married couples to enhance quality of life to either start or increase there family. If a system of affordable loans could be made available to encourage them to make this decision then that has to be a step in the right direction..............

Tuition support for students encompasses the need to encourage social mobility. All walks of life have something unique to offer there communities. Higher education is exorbitantly expensive, if funding was made available to open up opportunities for young people who have shown exceptional ability, grafted deligently, so gaining access to some of the best higher education establishments sends out a positive message that success is open to all...........

You are right to point out the need to address the question of sovereign debt. Taxes now take up some 28% of Japan’s GDP. So government could look to make savings in the huge outlays of its aging population. So cutting retirement and medical benefits should be considered?.............. Well in all intents and purposes its robbing Grandma and Grandpa out of the contributions paid into the system all there lives. Only a balanced restructuring of employment, taxation, etc have any political chance of success.

Ummmm, might wanna get that checked out. Sounds like the first stage of schizophrenia.

I heard some voices tell me the other day to buy a Ford Mustang. I chose not to listen to them though because in reality, I knew that I could not realistically afford such a purchase so instead I chose to be content with what I have.
