For the abduction issue to be resolved I think the following things must happen first:
Kim JongIl dies
The DPRK implodes and South Korea assumes control
Select members of the communist and military leadership are imprisoned and charged with human rights abuses for the starvation, imprisonment and torture of civilians
DPRK secret archives are made public and intelligence agents are FORCED to testify in international criminal proceedings
Not only will this bring to light what happened to many Japanese citizens, it wil also allow the citizens of the northern half of the Korean peninsula to live in freedom and relative prosperity (after a rough transition period unfortunately!)
Even the article 9 was removed the situation wont be different..... the japanese public has no hope over the LDP it was a cold case!By the way the method used by those re-Koizumi era was right....just forgotton it!
Shoganai
I dont understand why Aso san dissatisfied of what, you count on another country to solve your own problem was no difference as 'You bet!'
And he is still keen on that...it was definately hopeless to count on a government like this...that just hurt his repuations only!
Aso can be as dissatisfied as he wants to be so long as it remains the hollow posturing that it is. I'm sure he'd be even MORE dissatisfied if NK continues its missile launches, restarts the nuclear reactor, and does more nuke tests because Japan won't shut its yap on the abduction issue.
The DELISTING is a way of going forward in denuclearization talks... NOT the abduction issue. The latter is completely separate and has ZERO place in the six-nation talks. In fact, I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I were NK I would demand Japan out of the six-nation talks if it mentions the abduction issue, otherwise I would call off everything and restart the reactor until the other parties oblige and/or Japan shuts up. The abduction issue is a bilateral one and has NOTHING to do with denuclearization -- the latter affects everyone; the former affects no one but Japan (and NK).
Japan will never be taken seriously until they can get some leadership that focuses on building bridges and looks to the future both domestically and internationally.
It is time to for Japan to wipe its chin off and moves on. There is no resolution to be had. How in the world could they expect to be taken seriously on this issue. They nabbed from some estimates over 100,000 people from the asian continent and forced them into slavery just not too long ago...
Of course if you take them while in uniform, it is somehow ok. At least that is how EVERY single Japanese that I have asked has responded. "Thats different, that was war! But those dirty North Koreans pretended to be our friends and then, they betrayed us right behind our backs.... They can NEVER be trusted!" Sounds like a country with its ambassador claiming friendship while in the process of launching the largest sea born surprise attack in the history of mankind : ) Pot calling the Kettle black? Me Kuso, Hana Kuso?
As long as Japan has money, and U.S. ships in their harbor, their neighbors will feign acceptance... KY, pure and simple. Looks like Aso Sama will take his place next to other great Japanese leaders like Mori........
Sorry to tell you, sir, but the US, like everyone else acts for its own benefit 99% of the time and unless you get something locked down in an iron-clad treaty, support is trifling.

The fact that NKorea has not demanded and stuck to such a demand is evidence that even the NKorean govt is capable of more clear headed reasoning than the above. NKorea's goal to to improve it's lot, from the people having food to energy to run the country. You don't tell the second biggest economy in the world to "get lost" and kiss off any chances
of aid and assistance. And let's face it, all trhe nuclear threats and
missle antics are aimed soleley to attain that, not to invade anyone or
start a war.

I'm rather amazed that you care so little for the 400 or so South Koreans who have been kidnapped by NKorea and face a similar situation as the Japanese abductees. Unless of course you support NKorea but not SKorea.
He often says really bad things about other countries and women!! He should be kicked out. Even North Korea won't take him seriously, and he should change his name, it sound bleeding silly.
Japan can'T affect what America does, they always do what they want , whatevert, everyone knows that even Jerry.

Maybe Japan should grow a pair of balls. Step one in the process would be to stop sending rice shipments over whenever N. Korea snaps its fingers.

It can, but only by becoming a "normal" country. As long as Article 9 exists Japan will never be taken seriously by regimes like NKorea.
