He's a horrid little piggy faced tyrant who cares only for himself and his yucky desire to remain in power.

How low will he go to garner votes the beastly little twit?

  • smithinjapan at 04:43 PM JST - 30th July

The guy's had plenty of time to do this, and now they're making a big deal out of this. If he visited all the sites in Japan that people claimed kin were abducted from all he needs to is go for a day at the beach somewhere. Of course, if it makes people in the black trucks happy...

It's 'cause he's out of job - lots of time on his hands ;)

  • NuckinFutz at 06:18 PM JST - 30th July

Well at least he's in no danger of being abducted himself! Who'd want a has-been psuedo-politician?

  • funkyfresh at 07:02 PM JST - 30th July

Maybe his party is hoping for an abduction to occur? It would help the chances of their party not having ass-o around.

Gosh, here we have people criticizng Aso for being the first prime minister to visit abduction sites, simply because there's an election looming. Based on that line of thinking, any politician who does anything in the months or weeks before an election is purely done to win the election. Sheesh.

  • ca1ic0cat at 11:18 PM JST - 30th July

Yeah, Aso is turning the whole abductee thing into a political football instead of a humanitarian issue. That's a really bad move from the point of view to furthering negotiations with NK to find out what really happened. How craven can Aso become?

  • DeepAir65 at 01:04 AM JST - 31st July

‘‘The problem of abductions (by North Korea) is an important issue that must be solved,’’ Aso told reporters.

sorry you've had your turn - next!

he really is going for sound bite electioneering - please try something new

Aso will also visit a nearby disco and puka shells museum to capture the total 1970s experience. Have a nice day Aso-san. Try to catch Jaws when you can. Wear some bellbottoms.

How terribly sad and desparate. This guy served a term as foriegn minister and in his final weeks as PM, decides to bring up this issue to gain votes. Just hope the common Japanese folks can see through this.

This is the 2nd top political news story with a month to go until a general election? Great to see the priorities are being focused on...

  • usaexpat at 11:41 PM JST - 31st July

Pack some heat Aso san, the NK agents may be waiting for you.

    hopefully history repeats itself

  • Den Den at 12:18 PM JST - 4th August

What would they do with him? Learn kanji? About dress sense at internationl meetings?

  • stirfry at 03:51 PM JST - 4th August

doubtful, since he can barely read and his dress 'sense' is non-existant
