Mr. Aso barely made himself a Prime minister 2,3 months ago after 2 stupid former Prime ministers quit. Aso does not want to lose his office of the cabinet now and he wants to enjoy being Prime minister longer. Therefore he does not dissolve the Lower House. He was supposed to do it on October.

Wonder what Ozawa's got up his sleeve to put more pressure on Aso to back down and call that election...

On the NHK news last night it was reported that the opposition proposed dissolving the lower house for a general election. They were voted down, of course, but one LDP lawmaker, Yoshimi Watanabe, voted on their side. I'm wondering if we'll hear more about this.

He's not planning a snap election because he will lose. He'll surely just keep on as PM until an election has to be called around next summer. That is, unless the LDP decide to replace him with another person with the same policies and ideas as their predecessors.

Aso: I have no intention of being known in history as the PM made toast by Ichiro Ozawa. 21% approval rating or not. The wheel is still spinning, bwaa ha ha! Nantonaku!
