So a payout then a tax increase, hmm that seems logical. LOL

the payout is worthless. It is simply a bribe to try and keep the LDP voters from rejecting the LDP entirely.

We're like in a 90's time warp. In the current environment, people are just going to put that 12,000 yen away instead of spending it. He might as well institute shoulder pads and the punch perm while he's at it.

The problem with Aso's proposed economic measures is that he doesn't have any. How is "encouraging people to enter the health care sector" (or worse, become farmers) going to do anything for the economy in the next year or so? Pay in the health care sector at the low end--where special training needs are minimal--is almost laughably low, and at the high end, the work requires two or more years of additional education, and who's going to pay for that.
The country needs an action plan that will begin to wean its larger economy from its reliance on the manufacturing sector--and nothing Aso has proposed thus far seems to move in that direction.

Aso still misses the big issue... Japan's banks are so heavily indebted with bad loans that they are strapped to the nines. Japan's national debt also continues to spiral out of control. Throw in 90 yen to the dollar and Japans export driven economy is all but sunk. These are going to be truly hellish times to be in Japan. This nation can't spend it's way out of the mess and they have made zero friends out there in the global business world that will toss them a rope to cling to. I see the Americans are about to add legislation taxing import autos to the hilt. Japans time is up and Aso has absolutely no idea what to do. Glug glug glug.

Grilled? No, I think I'd prefer Aso boiled - or a flambe, perhaps?

Amazing.

With this ASO and his LDP in charge of Japan, the country will go down the plughole even faster. It is no longet the world
s No 2 economy, by the way - that honour goes to the expanded EU. In fact, it is more like the worlds No 4 economy right now, and will go down even further. There is no end to the insanity of Aso and his LDP dinosaurs. They have lost touch with reality - not just with the long suffering Japanese people.
