Well, when the people speak, you gotta go. I wonder how the old boy has been taking it. He's probably been gunning for this his whole life, then to fail so miserably at it. Wonder who he blames for his ineptitude?
he'll probably tell himself (and believe it) that had it not been for the economy, or the chinese, he'd be remembered as Japans great prime minister.

Mr. Aso thinks that 21 percent rate is enough number and he just does not know when he loses the game. He is already loser below 21 percent. Aso does not want to accept it.

Aso: Nantonaku, have we hit bottom yet?
Pilot: Just about now...

He might be the worst PM ever.
Get out! Get out! You hear the people? Out!
This man is nothing but a pathetic crybaby. Worse than Shinzo Abe who had to quit because he got a tummyache.

The drop is more an indication of the fickleness of the public than the performance of the PM.

This scoundral has siad many awful things about people and seems like a spoilt snob to me.
I am not at all surprised such a horrid man is so unpopular.
Resign or call an election Aso.
buggerlugs at 10:22 PM JST - 29th December
Shouldn't this article be re-titled appropriatly, "Aso's disapproval rating increases" cause he was never that popular anyways. hopefully now the people will vote sensibly, not just follow like sheep... Sorry I should re-state that as "not just follow like lemmings" cause the present powers are only leading japan over a steep economic cliff that continues into an abyss.

Quite a few opinion polls at the beginning of December were also giving Aso a 21% approval rating. Nothing has changed since then - Aso and the LDP are still just as useless.

Next up, DPJ... oh dear god. Say it ain't so. Tell me there is another viable option. Nope! Ganbatte DPJ.

I think Japan is running out of candidates for replacements.
Simon_Foston at 01:46 AM JST - 30th December
I'm sure the LDP is. I'd be very surprised if any of them want to take over from Aso before the next election, because they all know that whoever's in charge will be leading them to disaster. Undoubtedly some of the LDP lawmakers who could actually stand a chance of winning would prefer to let Aso take the fall rather than risk their own careers.

He probably thinks that 'you people' who aren't supportive of him need to 'walk briskly every day' so that you can see where he's coming from.
NuckinFutz at 10:17 AM JST - 30th December
Why quit at 21 when you can hang on an achieve ABSOLUTE ZERO!
Simon_Foston at 11:47 AM JST - 30th December
There will probably always be a few comic publishers, store owners and readers who support Aso, but the way things are going I reckon an approval rating of around 2% would be a realistic goal for him.
martyman at 01:23 PM JST - 1st January
Maybe if Aso tells the public "Yes We Can", his approval rating would increase.
