China's complaints about Japan's complaints about China's complaints are irritating too! Pot-kettle-black syndrome, all over again, and again and again and again.

China claims thousands of years of history and culture, but even after all these centuries it still hasn't grown up.

China on Tuesday rebuffed as “irritating” complaints from Japan about the Beijing visit of U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to watch a military parade marking the end of World War Two.

WOW!!! Does China ever look in the mirror and ask "I am for real"?!? Pot calling the kettle back as Yubaru says.

China, and Russia to a degree control their media and their people and have become quite good PR spin doctors to divert people from the real issues. Perhaps this parade will happen and after some tough words are exchanged everyone can get back to the business of actually talking.

Yes it all might seem silly and childish but right now Japan isn't in the game, maybe its a game that shouldn't be played but Russia and China are a lot closer than the US, it can't be ignored.

China calls Japan complaints about Ban's WW2 parade visit "irritating"

What does the UN think?

Japan 3.5 million lost. China 10- 20 million lost. Why feel sympathy to the losers. They should have lost a lot more including all of their elite. Thanks to the Americans who were out for their own gain they didn't loss more. Indeed the Japanese are trying to get us to feel sorry for two bombs when in actual fact they don't feel much sympathy for their neighbors who had to put up with so much and don't deserve it. The current pack of leaders is rubbing salt into our wounds in their attempts to rewrite history.

If Japan is not happy about China being irritated it should not have hassled Ban about going to China for this parade.

It is about time Japan get out from UN. Japan pay too much money but never included in its decision procedures. UN can charge Korea as much as Japan pay.

Wilson Lee, If China lost 10-20 million, why does China has been complaining only Nanjing 300,000 until recently? They have no evidence. It is easy to say 10-20 million but it is not easy to kill 10-20 million for limited Japanese soldiers with old limited weapon.

There was no reason for Japan to kill 10-20 million chinese when there were so many Chinese. Japan does not waste scarce bullets.

Communist party was fighting with KMT before and after the war with Japan. They were very cruel. What is the figure from the civil war? Mao thanked Japan saying it was because of Japan's fighting with KMT that the communist won over KMT.

"why does China has been complaining only Nanjing 300,000 until recently?"

Thank you Mr. Tibbets! Thank you Mr. Ban! The reason why the world is safe from the savages is because of the heroes like Mr. Tibbets and Mr. Ban.

South Korean President Park Geun-hye will also attend the Beijing parade, along with a senior North Korean official.

The thing that gets scary is when North Korea and South Korea can attend something that they share very similar views on...

It is very easy to kill 10 - 20 million people in 8 years when you have planes, bombs, chemical & biological weapons, and control of the airspace, and when you have a large army on the ground with grenades, artillery, automatic hand weapons, and no respect for the lives or rights of the civilian population.

why does China has been complaining only Nanjing 300,000

They don't only complain about Nanjing; it's just the worst single example of what Japan did in China.

Japan 3.5 million lost. China 10- 20 million lost.

Little Japan is a popular meme for PRC nationalists, and the writer is intelligent enough to understand that Japan (yes, it was the aggressor) lost a higher proportion of its population.

The writer has informational access to the full horrors of Nanjing and WW2. That is a good thing, until it becomes an obsession.

However the writer (if located behind the Great Firewall of China - thank you Google) does not have access to Mao's Great Leap Forward 大跃进, which killed 45 million Chinese in four years, or the Tiananmen Square massacre 六四事件 in 1989, when hundreds of students were slaughtered. The Wikipedia entry on the latter (as an example of Beijing's whitewash) claims:

Uncertain reports of few and isolated deaths of protestors inside Tiananmen Square

Those who ignore history are condemned to repeat it, or have it repeated on them. That applies to all countries around the world. However, 120,000 surrounded Japan's Diet last weekend in protest against the government.

Would the billionaire Politburo allow that?

The reason why the world is safe from the savages is because of the heroes like Mr. Tibbets and Mr. Ban.

One could argue it was the Soviet entry to the war that proved decisive. However, it was more face-saving for Japanese authorities then and since - to pretend it was the atom bombs that ended the war. Moreover, the Americans seem to have swallowed this fallacy as well. There is nothing wrong with China having a parade to celebrate the anniversary of WW2`s end

First point - Ban's watching a military parade, and recognising China's sacrifices / contributions seem completely unrelated to me. Wouldn't a non-military parade be more fitting to commemorate the end of the war?

Second point - Hua Chunying's comment, that Japan's concerns were "very irritating, which is deliberately provocative", sounds stupid and illogical, or perhaps was just translated very poorly into English. I suspect the former is more likely though.

Japan is very paranoid her so called ally South Korea choose to side with China and the United Nation secretary who is a Korean also choose to at odds Japan's stance. Japan is trying to diminish China's voice of accusations but instead the darkside of Japan's wartime atrocities and her present "Stubbornly refusal of apologies" has lead to a bigger attentions by the world through the United Nation's support.

It is for me as a non-japanese average person irritating when the highest representant of an institution which should ensure Peace and Human Rights would like to visit a military parade.

China is still smarting that Abe is not going to attend so they invited Ban just to rub it in Tokyo's face

Ban Ki-moon and Park Guen-hye are a pair aren't they ?

Yea, go ahead and join the "We Hate Japan Day" in "Beautiful Smog Ridden" - Beijing.

Yea, go and Glorify Mao Zedong's Ultimate victory at single handedly defeating those barbaric Japanese ALL BY HIMSELF!

The actions by Mr. Ban is placing himself up next and personal with a Hostile Communist Party that has taken the Wrong Side of History by their Choice AND this is another attempt at Communist China to Unbalance the Status Quo by opening Old Wounds related to Historical Events that in most part are still questionable to this day.

But, this will not go without consequence. You see, the U.S. is preparing Economic Sanctions for Communist China related to a laundry list of accusations and this little "Parade" that the UN-Secretary General had decided to participate by China's design has breached the point of how much tolerance the U.S. Has had with China. When we say "Resolve Your Differences Peacefully" -we mean it and NOT with threating Military Parades.
