If China's celebrating the anniversary of the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War, maybe Japan should celebrate the anniversary of the end of the First. How about next April 17, the 121st anniversary of the Treaty of Shimonoseki.

If a few million Chinese had the guts to call out their leader Mr. X as the birdbrain that he is, they wouldn't be forced to put up with such silly public displays of jingoism. Obviously the date they should observe is October 10 (1911), when the uprising in Wuhan began the overthrow of the Manchu monarchy. For the 104 years since then, China's certainly had its share of ups and downs. Mostly downs.

Wc626 - Do you mean "Grease their palms"?

Try to be a little less hip so that you might actually make a coherent statement.

People might actually take you seriously

"The planned Sept. 3 parade will showcase the People’s Liberation Army rapidly growing capabilities at a time when Beijing is asserting territorial claims in the South China Sea and East China Sea."

This is NOT a to celebrate the end of a war but to SHOW OFF how they MIGHT start one will this MASSIVE WASTE OF MONEY WHEN WAR ONLY MAKES THOSE WHO BUILD THE WAR MACHINES RICH!!!

@clamenza. In these here JT forums, it's entertaining for me to be outright frivolous. Anyways, thank you for ur constructive criticism. On the other hand, I always digg your 2 cents. You make good articulate posts.

China is developing the largest navy in the Pacific-Indian Ocean sphere, creting more ports for their ships, and making more connections throughout Asia using pipelines. Economically they're able to Finland-ize regions, and soon will have the military clout to ensure their hold from East Africa to their own homeland.

I'm just hoping we will see near-production versions of the J-20 and J-31 stealth aircraft.

This is going to hurt some feelings and be regrettable!

I suspect that this may be the point, unfortunately.

We do not give money to mentally unstable kids as they may buy guns to kill others..

If former US President Nixon and Secretary of State Kissinger were alive today, they probably say that they made a mistake to open trade with China.

I don't think Kissinger had kicked the bucket yet.

This is meant as a direct threat to Japan and the United States.

I do not believe the parade is "A direct threat" to U.S or Japan.Certainly there is a domestic purpose. Because China usually test launch her ballistic missiles during the later half of every year to send political message to all her potential adversaries to " F. OFF"!

Abe is not going to China, but staying here to oversee the remilitarization of Japan. Meanwhile, the economy is again sinking. So much for Abenomics. Actually, this is great news! Abe will be gone soon when the LSP is kicked out of power again.

Japan has a great future success. Great and successful future in Japan you can start doing today. To this end, Japan should not act as standard! Otsenite for these actions is your national mentality of thinking - this is what you are inside. You have very strong traditional sustainable features mentality of the Japanese nation. It's fine. This is your foundation. But tight national mentality of thinking has a negative trait - closing (denying) the future for their country. Because the future is development. Development always means change its previous state. Therefore, the mentality of thinking nation, unfortunately, bears (in itself) the costs for the nation's future. These costs harm the future of the country. These complexes in the mentality of the nation give unfortunately motivation for wrong actions - primarily for government. The traditional mentality of the Japanese nation - the main cost in the development of Japan: in prosperity, and (most importantly) in the preservation of future generations in Japan. The mentality of the nation - is good, it is the spiritual root of the nation. But the "climate of life" has changed. For a sustainable future of the Japanese population should be made already today is not the standard super strategic adjustments in the life and politics of Japan. These adjustments are already today. Because direct paths in the history of nations there. If it is determined weighted reasonable flexibility in the actions of the Japanese government, the future of the Japanese people, and will be transformed successfully and happily predictable. Because Japan has excellent road in her future. There is a door to God, which is open to the people of Japan. For this we need only have practical wisdom, prudence, courage and bravery. Japanese, enable, please, your lateral thinking, get rid of bad facilities and you save the future of their nation. Do not worry, please do not do standard: to rebel against some "properties" of your thinking mentality of the nation. But please remember - you have very little time (how much? - I do not know, but I know - it is very small). This is evident from the behavior of your neighbors. All it's not the standard is beyond difficult. This is how childbirth for women. It hurt, but then comes the great joy and happiness. With best regards, Aleksandr Solodilov (LinkedIn).

This is going to have to be a much bigger ceremony and parade than they planned if they want to get the Chinese's people's minds off their economy right now.
