I think most countries are well and truly fed up with the Han Chinese meddling in their internal affairs. Unlike China, Japan is a country with freedom of speech and representation. It is none of China's business if a non-Han Chinese visits Japan, or any other country. Obviously within China these ethnic minorities have limited rights and almost no ability to have their voices heard. This is typically why they do travel to countries where they can safely voice their opinions. The Han Chinese are overwhelming these ethnic minority areas and drowning out any opposition. We don't want this attitude spreading to other countries as well.

It's unbelievable that they were awarded the Olympics. None of their promises were kept about reducing censorship or improving their human rights record.
Their bullying and arrogant behavior at the Australian Film Festival was also a bit hard to digest. A very insecure country.

Stay out of Japan's "internal affairs", ya red clowns.

China really pisses me off. I wish they would just disappear, and take North Korea along with them.

and yet we all the world over reward China everyday by buying their goods and selling them our resources. If we had a backbone to begin with we might have made a difference. Not now though when we sold it for $5 and a hairdryer.

So, nobody can meddle in China's internal affairs but China can meddle in others'? Sorry China, if you want the world to look the other way when you suppress dissent, censor everything in sight, and deny people their basic freedoms then you don't get the right to complain about what goes on in other countries.
It goes both ways.

I can't help but notice the smug feeling of schadenfreude in Japan every time riots erupt in China.

Here we go again. Being a authoritarian dictatorship, China still can't quite understand that democratic nations can not stop someone from entering their country unless there is a legal basis to do so. That the whining Chinese government in diapers doesn't want them to is not a valid reason.

don't whether their protesting this visit is total medddling with japan's affairs; but we, the U.S., is the biggest meddler in other people's affairs, including telling China what it should and should not do. fact is, we do it everyday and in every corner of the world. China does not. It is only concerned with its own problems.
personally, i wish china, north korea AND japan would disappear. somebody said japan was a joke. it sends its royal couple to lay commemorative wreath to pay respects to dead U.S. soldiers, but won't send the same couple to pay respects to the countless direct victims of japan's barbaric brutality. how does this make any sense? how does this not keep pissing the asian neighbors off ? i agree with this opinion.

Same O' Same O' from Chicoms.
When Dalai Lama visit Japan, China goes ape$hit.
When former PM of Taiwan, Lee Teng-Hui, thinks about going to Japan, China starts $hitting bricks.

Butt out of Japan, Cinese Commies whose days are numbered! You will soon be history - and very bad history. You dont like people who speak the truth about your evil deeds. Remember Tiennamen Square, and down with Chinese Communism.
OssanAmerica at 08:04 PM JST - 28th July
"We"?? There is a very big difference between meddling to spread democracy and human rights, and meddling to prevent them.
The royal visit was a class act from a couple who weren't directly involved with WWII. As to pissing the neighbors off, even China is off that bandwagon so you's better get over it. A for Japan disappearing the UNN would differ with you.

I have to agree, for a country that is so paranoid about other people not interfering in their "internal affairs" (or the internal affairs of Burma or NK) the Chinese are awfully quick to start meddling when another country has a person they don't like visit. But dictatorships are always looking for a way to draw attention away from their own deficiencies. So I'm not surprised they are pitching a fit. I am so glad I am not there any more. It was fun while it lasted but lately things have gone downhill.

all forms of govt has deficiencies and look for ways to draw attention from them. anyway, how's zimbabwe now that you're back?
especially, if a country has oil.

Why can't we all just grow up and get along? Jingoism is a dangerous thing.
