Looks like China wants to try and make up.

Has China finally realized that they aren't going to get the islands by force and intimidation?

Smart move by China to put someone who really seems to know about Japan in this position. Hopefully something positive will come from it.

Last time I check China is just exerting her claim to sovereignty over the disputed islands. It just happen Japan got lucky with US backup, courtesy of Hillary giving Japan a big leeway to misbehave, so China just dance around the edge. Kerry will see that Japan behave properly from now on!
China behaviour is not by force, neither is it intimidation since no military assets were used. People should not be misled by this kind of extrapolation designed to smear China and make Japan looks good while in fact Japan is trying to intimidate China with massive show of fighers chasing a small propeller plane and planning to fire warning shots!
Anyway the new foreign minister is just a mouthpiece of the Chinese government, so nothing will change, but if Abe don't visit the Yasukuni Shine in August, China may 'reward' him for good behavior!

Japan are so unreasonable! here are some iterms support it:
1.It is impossible that These islets had no onwer before 1895, even the South Pole had been explored at that time, how can these islands left untouched? Besides, China has provided the evidence that these islands had been explored.
2.It is normal Even China had not claimed on these islands , because they are too small to have the need to make the claim. The need is only come when Japan wanted to possess them. Few country named or claimed on every single islets arround them, even Japan just claimed hundreds of islets last year, does this means these islets that claimed last year could be claimed by other nations ? you may say of course not, so why the same logic can't be these disputes islands?
3.Japanese widely believe that these islands were handed over to them in the San Francisco peace treaty. But what kind of treaty it is? these treaties were just for cold war, and extremely not fair, how could the treaty makers handed over other nation's territory to Japan that not belonged to them? why they just handed over them selves territories to Japan? What kind of absurd thing can overtake this? **This is why China will not take these disputes to the international court, because even now those counties are still the main numbers there, **who can believe them will do the fair thing this time?
4.Japan believe the fact that the US handed over these islands to Japan. but actually, the US can never be the onwer of these islands, not now, not then, It doesn't matter how many US people died there, actually even the whole American people died there, it is illegal to take the islands by the US, let alone handed them to Japan. ** Here is an potential logic that most Japanese beleve that the US won the war so they took the island and changed the onwer of the islands to the US.** Here hides two question: a). At that time, these islands were not belong to Japan. b).** the theory come to legal : The onwer of the territory can be change by winning a war. If the onwer of territories can be changed by war and all the nations believe this, where will the peace reside in? every nation can trigger wars to take territories from others. **
5.China never want to claim ALL the territories in Asia, let alone the whole world. But we can hear of these kinds of words every day from the mouth of Japanese. How radical and unreasonable is that? ** All the territories that China is claiming now are those belong to China before and are token by others, nothing more, Can you provide an instance against this? If you can't , just shut up!** Actually it is Japanese want to claim territories that may not belong to Japan with at least three counties.
I know my opinions will be opposed by many people,** but before doing that provide your reasonable reason here.** and I am always delighted to discuss this with you reasonablly. Another request,** dont be stubborn be reasonable**.

The combined threat of Prince Pickles. Pars;ey-chan and a Thunderbirds ad has obviously made the new ambassador think twice about taking on the might of the JSDF.

For those who thing the islands should be granted to china.... Think realistically, for decades they went unopposed. Why now try and absorb them into the china empire? What about Tibet and other occupied territories? Return them.....doubt they will. Keep the islands Japan, china would just ruin them anyway.

It is very unlikely for anti China crowd to change their mind because they think they can get away with it. You will see they become nicer only when Japan lose more clout. You cannot reason with these people. Global events will unfold and they will be forced to conclude in their own mind it is time for them to be pragmatic like the Chinese! All they do now is to give me lots of negative votes because they cannot stand me telling things they don't want to hear, but they can always counter me and I can explain why they are wrong. I love democracy in action!
Meanwhile I hope the new foreign minister is clever enough to catch the Japanese ju jitsu political talk and demand they speak plain English, clear and concise, complete, no half a loaf to mislead anybody!

@Tony Ew,
I am very appreciate for your kind response and advice. This is very Great, The peace world need more people like you.
I have the confusion also whether should I do this time and time again.
There is an saying in several counties, The time the full-scale war break out between China and Japan, it is also the extinction time for Japanese, several counties in the currenct world have this kinds of abilities to bring an extinction to Japan in less than half hour.
I dont want to see this. Too terrible. So we have to supress the bad thoughts that threaten the peace, even in a radical way.

The Chinese like the Japanese people has had the good fortune of being civilised long before the land called America was poplated by people other than the Red Indians. Hence harmony and co-operation has been the central focus.

@TigerinThe_hermitage,
You are talking about the Great opinion!
I have a illusion, if China and Japan can get good relationship with each other, no other nations can defeat this. We will no longer be worry about the TPP, no longer be benefit by other nations from the conflications in the East China sea. And no economic crisis can defeat the Asia economy.

It is not a secrete that China loves to keep the Japan issue alive as it takes some attention off of the CCP's problems when it comes to social issues that can get out of hand and has many times recently with protests over land grabs and payoff of local official in different provinces across China and also using the Japan hatred to promote nationalism as to keep support of the forced into power leadership that keeps them propped up in their singular leadrahip compssed of the princlings that keeps the power within the small group of those that have held on to power ever since the communist forced themselves into power from the bigining!

I support Japan whole heartedly, you have deleloped a free advanced society and is seen as that throughout the world. Maybe not so much in China as the leadership demonizes you infront of those they try and control, namely Chinese people of China, but as for the other major powers around the world and the largest percentage of every other country, we all see you as I described above. More power to you! :) hopefully will enjoy some of your culture later this year. Cheers and good wishes to you all!

Then Senkaku does not belong to China. End of the story.
Old Chinese books say Chinese envoy traveled near Senkaku by a ship GUIDED by Okinawans. The books prove Okinawans discovered the islands before Chinese did.

"... China loves to keep the Japan issue alive..."?
well, it's not always that China loves to keep the Japan issue alive. The right wing Japanese, including Shinzo Abe, by their actions and words, also have been keeping the Japan issue alive:
Several past Japanese PMs, have visited the controversial Yasukuni shrine that included WWII Class A war crimes
Japanese politicians, including Shinzo Abe and Koizumi, wants to change it's constition to militarize again http://www.japantoday.com/category/politics/view/abe-pledges-to-change-constitution-reestablish-proud-japan
Many Japanese politicians, including Shinzo Abe, keep denying the extent and some, even denying the existence of the Nanjing Massacre that killed upwards of 250,000 civilians over a matter of 6 weeks..
.. so some Japanese today in no small part are keeping the Japan issue alive themselves.

The Old Chinese books say Chinese envoy traveled near Senkaku/Diaoyu by a ship Guided by Okinawans, this is true, but there is an other truth, at that time the territory between China and Okinawan had been definited.
It clearly said the territory of Okinawan is from GUMI. Who guided the travelling matters nothing.
You lost something here by purpose?

What is GUMI?

I have just heard that japanese defence minister has said that China always makes trouble to its neighbors when there is internal turmoile. What turmoile? China has never been so stable and prosperous now. His such liar statement has lost my trust to japanese politician. How about ordinary japanese? Are they trustful?
