Will those New York apples be allowed into Japan? I thought Japan didn't allow apples from the U.S. into the country because of protectionist trade pract... er... because of fire blight.

I'm sure apples will be allowed in if it's a gift and they follow all the proper protocols.

So she is betting apples instead of cash... Looks like this American debt crisis is worse than we realise.

Why would Japan need to let in US apples anyway? Japanese apples are superb. Love the Aomori ringo.

Geez, why the three thumbs down? Have you never had Aomori apples? Best I've ever had.

****The fruits that I've eaten in Japan all were very tasty. Course ole lady Clinton will probably send rotten ones then claim they got that way because of shipment delays and time.

More than 50% of apples sold in USA are of the Japanese Fuji cultivar anyway.one of the most successful cultivar ever.

It's not really the "Japanese" Fuji because the Fuji is an all-American cross of Red Delicious and Ralls Janet. The only thing Japanese about it was where it was cross-bred. If I were a betting man, I'd guess she'll be sending Cortlands in the Fall when they're ripe.
