    Noda, however, ruled out stepping down over the issue as she spoke at a press conference, saying the company’s financial contribution to her had nothing to do with the comments she has made in favor of the industry.

    Why else would they give it to her? Still, it's small change compared to some of the wads of cash that businessmen and politicians like to throw at each other. She's probably figuring she doesn't have to quit because other cabinet ministers have taken far bigger bribes and kept their jobs.
