Lets hope they exclude the Komeito nutjobs and the old guard LDP.

Good, there is least a cooling off period which will allow the DPJ to come to its senses before next week.

Talk about an unholy alliance. In one corner you the DPJ, who represent the core of the newly-elected government of Japan. In the other corner you have a parliamentary rump comprised of the People’s New Party, a group of Japanese Luddites who want to turn back the clock on numerous reforms, and the unabashedly anti-American Social Democratic Party of Japan, who when not bickering amongst themselves regarding who is more politically correct, have been singular successful over the last 15 years in almost leading themselves to electoral extinction. What a combination!!!

Don't get wrong, I am all in favor of the DPJ having a shake at governing this country and introducing some much-needed housecleaning and reforms. However, the combination of a lack of experience and the strangest of bedfellows tends to make me worry.

Why on earth are they agreeing to this? It's only going to send voters the other way next election. They're already losing themselves votes, guaranteed.

"Lets hope they exclude the Komeito nutjobs..." Alright, I'll bite just for fun.

It's a shame some people are so uneducated about the facts, but hey... I guess only 'nutjobs' could hope for world-peace and equality in a place like this, and have fools call them childish names for trying to give said fools the vote. Cracks me up every time.

Here's hoping that this statement on the US - Japan Alliance is for public consumption only and that back-channel they have assured the US that things won't change, or it's going to get real touchy the next time nK explodes a nuke or China sends more ships to "explore" the South China Seas.....let's see how a more independent foreign policy works then.....
