"the LDP’s conventional policies based on the belief that supporting companies will lead to improvement in family finances have been a ‘‘failure.’’" This has been true since having a dog is getting more common than a child in couples.

‘‘If we take power, we’ll provide first aid to needy individuals,’’ Otsuka said. ‘‘If their living (situation) gets better, that would boost demand and improve the economy.’’. This sounds good but is yet to prove to be efficient.

One thing I am worried is that although family with children will get a 26,000 yens fee every month for each children, what of the income tax rate ? I heard that it won`t change at all, what if they would adjust the rate according to the family situation, might not that be better ? No children: you pay the higher rate, according to the number of children, the rate decreases. Logic that is applied in most european countries. Just an idea here...

the party seems more like creating a big government that collects a lot of money and then hands out a lot. It has a strong socialism touch

Better than the current practice of just collecting a lot of money and that's it.
