it's so easy to blame computer error

  • KyouNoNippon at 03:28 PM JST - 22nd September

I am sure they had 5 different versions of the email floating around.

  • thepro at 03:32 PM JST - 22nd September

'Woops, sorry. We forgot to wait until after the fake election'

  • Sarge at 03:45 PM JST - 22nd September

    It's not a mistake, it's just early.

  • Noripinhead at 04:13 PM JST - 22nd September

I can hear Aso saying, "I say EU, get off of my cloud..."

  • gogogo at 04:24 PM JST - 22nd September

Hello? What a load of crap since now he is now elected!

  • OssanULTRA at 11:50 PM JST - 22nd September

I agree with Sarge. Just shows how the EU is right on top of things and likes to get stuff done in advance.

The EU is used to the musical chairs type of government found in Japan. They probably already have their computer program loaded with the next crop of potential replacements, ready to send it in less than 1 year's time.

    gogogo,

No, he hasn't been elected prime minister. He's been elected the official candidate for his party for the upcoming Prime Minister elections in October/November.

Still, it's really not too far from the truth. I think it's a forgone conclusion that the LDP Dynasty is a shoe-in for the next election . . . Again. The Eu was just being efficient with their congratulations.

No, he hasn't been elected prime minister

Aso will be the 92nd Prime Minister as of Wednesday. Not from Sunday evening when this congratulatory email went out too early.

  • LFRAgain at 01:25 PM JST - 23rd September

Appears you're right, chibaman. He is indeed the next prime minister unless the House of Representatives decides to dump him. Since it's LDP-controlled, I suppose there isn't much chance of that unless he really screws things up. Those wacky parliamentary systems.

    Computer error?

What? The program that picks our world leaders somehow crunched the data to make it seem like Aso had already been sworn in?

Maybe those of you who could not program your VCRs back in the day will buy this excuse?

When I read the head line, I thought they realized the guy seems to think slavery and colonization is ok, and withdrew their congratulations to him. I would.

Come on this man had over 340 votes. If he is not the man, who is ? He's the man of the people and the people are watching. I wish him luck it's chaos all around him.
