Not a single word from the medical institute/doctors who are conducting health checks on Fujii? Wishing him quick recovery also while selecting New Finance Minister pls tell him/her that it's a exhausting JOB.

He was too old for the post to start with. And cannot believe the PM asked him to continue even after Fujii had told him he wanted to quit it.

He's not sick. He has almost certainly been informed that out some really bad economic news is imminent and wants to bail out before it's made public.

And because he wants to protect what he does know, especially when the imminent news is probably bad for Japan

"But the government eventually decided to accept Fujii’s resignation as he was adamant, the lawmaker said."
If he died would they accept it or ask him to continue to live? The guy is 77 and hospitalized!! Let him RETIRE before he expires!!

Interesting take. It is very strange and a little ominous...

Nothing like young blood in the political system.
