i think it's good for Japan to show some initiative, especially if it's related to development projects, and not raining bullets. This will go a long way to generating good will with young afghani children.

I think Okada is doing his job well. But Japan should not be making more contributions to Afghanistan. It is a country that cannot run a legitimate election for President and still treats their women like animal slaves. Instead, Japan should focus its aid efforts on helping their East Asian neighbors.

" and still treats their women like animal slaves"
really? I think it would be bigger news if that were really true. Are you sure you haven't been brainwash on that one? I don't suppose you think they might be muslim too?
2nd to pepin, positive help instead of bullets will go a longer way.
Although Japan should be wary of the corruption and numerous middle men.. I believe that is why the quality of reconstruction work in iraq is low due to the final amount of money going to the person that will actually do the job being woefully small ( after all the cuts from middle men, friends of politicians, etc).

@MrUSA
Again, brutally honest and I agree.
All I can say is, protect the nation of Japan and most importantly, the people of Japan. I'm all for helping these troubled nations with the hopes that they'll finally come around but not at the risk of sending people into harm's way.
