Another sign of just how out of touch these guys are with normal people in Japan. People are noisey because they are having a harder time feeding and caring for their families with rising prices. They should be noisey and they should make this useless LDP leadership accountable for finding some solutions. If they don't the same noisey people should toss these guys our on their collective priviledged class behinds along with their pointless party. Let's show them noisey!
It seems there are some big communication problems in the background. People get noisy, and right so, if the persons in charge do not listen carefully in the first place.
やかましい is fine with me when it comes to being assured of food safety, using sterile 1-use needles in hospitals, having items properly labeled, having tax money not squandered, having teachers certified by ability not bribes, having doctors who are reasonably competent, building nuclear plants and running them properly etc. etc. etc. It's the "it's good enough!" (when it's obviously not) LDP Ota types that need to hear a few more urusai people! "Let them eat cake!" is not good enough.
This is the same guy who rationalized the acts of the Keio students charged with gang rape by saying "we need young men with energy and initiative." Anyone who defends everything about Japanese society isn't paying close enough attention. This guy should be in a nut house, not the Cabinet . . .
...and to add to that, shows what a confused old man Fukuda proves he really is when he criticises a relatively mild comment like this and yet refused to condemn his previous Justice Minister, Hatoyama, for publicly declaring that he had terrorist connections and was aware of the Bali bomb plot before it occurred!
Mad. He must have been taking double standards lessons from Dubya or something
やかましい...meaning brats, demanding to the point of being irrational. And to think that Fukuda government just hide the fact that the dumpling poisoning occurred in China. And when people demanded an explanation, the Agriculture minister said, Japanese consumers are やかましい. You feed me poison and you want me to be quiet about it? We do not need another idiot please

He called them やかましい, not sure if noisy paints the best picture. What about picky?

Noisy, picky, "claiming," complaining, err...voicing their displeasure concerning various things?

In fairness to Bush, he never admits his people ever do or say anything wrong, so he isn't guilty of "double" standards.
