Fukuda support rate down to 25-29%: papers

TOKYO —

The support rate on Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda’s and his cabinet has dropped to 25%, the lowest level since the administration’s launch last September, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported Monday. The business daily Nikkei reported the same day that the rate had fallen to 29%.

The result of the Asahi poll, conducted over the weekend, was down 6 percentage points from the previous month, and that of the Nikkei poll, taken from Friday to Sunday, was down 2 points compared to last month.
