If this aid were aimed at helping nations deal with climate change, OK, but if it's aimed at trying to stop climate change, it's a waste of money and effort.
its a bribe to get on the short list for african natural resources...nothing else
I'd say you're right on the money there.
Also, I wonder how much of this taxpayers' money will go directly into the pockets of Japanese corporations to 'help' African countries tackle the non-existent problem of global warming. Er, I mean climate change.
The amount of AID that has been promised to Africa from various countries in the last few years would reach at least two trillion dollars by now. My contention is that a minute after the promise is made it goes into the too hard basket and nothing really happens. Show me evidence where true aid is really been delivered to Africa unless their is something significant in it for the givers. Africa has become the conscience leveler for those seeking to appear to be compassionate in the West. That is where they go when they want to portray an image of being concerned about their fellow man. It is such a bore!

"Hard cash not hollow promises", this is what African nations will ask, reason being they have already been "genuinely helped" by China and India.

Ever seen 'confessions of an economic hit man' (on youtube)? Things are not always what they seem.
