3 days off. In keeping with the rest of Japan. Enjoy.

You mean he hasn't been on vacation since he was elected? Had been wondering why nothing significant or helpful to the people of Japan had happened for a very long while. Thought he was pulling a 2000 Bush routine of being permanently on vacation. Turns out he's just useless.

But then even he knows that.

72... shouldn't he be retired by now

  • KissMint at 10:55 AM JST - 16th July

So... does that mean he's on vacation right now, starting today? OMG!! If he's on vacation, who's running Japan? Won't the country fall apart? CRISIS, people!!!!

It is already too late. Chaos already rules. Crowds dancing in the streets, salarymen refusing to wear suits and ties, OLs giving up LV bags in favor of more original designs and, very worst of all, people are smiling.

No wait, its just a pre-luch hallucination.

    Nothing has changed.

I am hoping that he will be saying good bye to his staff and maybe taking a longer vacation than he publicly is saying.....

Maybe do some fishing with ole Abe............Brings a smile to my face.....

“I was ordered not to be here,”

yes you nitwit, that's what a 25% approval rating means

3 days is quite short. In our company it is 7 days of summer holiday. In addition to 20 days normal year holiday.

    Ganbatte Fukuda-san. But, what for?

  • Triple888 at 02:51 AM JST - 17th July

Then another holiday in August to watch the Summer Games. Isn't it nice to be PM.

Belated Happy Birthday to Prime Minister Fukuda, Enjoy your vacation...

everyday`s a holiday when you sweep things under the tatami mat.

"I was ordered not to be here"? By whom? Are you not the one in charge? I'm really starting to wonder, does Fukuda actually decide anything of his? I mean other than decididing to "think about it more" or "debate about it more"? And that's when he doesn't just decide to not decide or just plainly not do anything about it? But maybe that's just my impression.

    tkoind2,

You left out "cats and dogs getting along". Good one, though :)
