Do they not understand that they work for civilians...? He wrote an essay for some contest, he didn't change the JN gov't official policy, and they fired him.... Looks like civilian control is working....

This guy may very well be a racist idiot, but he has the right to write an essay involving his own personal views... Of course he can't just dictate the official SDF policy on a whim.

Having read Tamogami's essay I'd say civilian control is less of an issue than intelligence. Perhaps they might consider introducing some kind of test where army applicants have to write a sentence that makes sense.

Doesn't the SDF now answer to the MOD? Isn't that civilian control?
