Kick him out, that's what I say. This coward shouldn't be in politics anymore. Not after he fled during the nuclear crisis.
Japan needs to tax more.

What wasteful spending - your fat salary and your opposition to the bills which resulted in the extension of the Diet session until Sept 8? Ozawa, you should look in the mirror more often. Your head is getting bigger and bigger just like your ego! Not even your wife would stand by you anymore! Those 60 or so party members close to you is all you have left so go form your new party. Form it today for all I care but ffs stop interfering with politics to feed your ego and your wallet!!

Ideals and reality – Ah, if only we lived in an ideal world!
Ozawa is such a trouble maker! The sooner he leaves his (not-so-) beloved party the better.

Those 60 or so members all have their futures attached to Ozawa's coat strings. Personally I would LOVE to see Noda get the tax bill passed, then call a snap election and let Ozawa swing in the wind because it is well known that of those 60 disciples of Ozawa many if not most WILL lose their seats in any upcoming election if the current situation stays as it is.
Come on Noda!

Now that the Diet has until Sept. 8 to work on important bills ... I hope they take this extra time to do a good job at it and not hurt us taxpayers even more.
Also hope they work out a good social security system, too. My social security payments have been reduced too many times already, including again this year. Many of my friends (all Japanese) who also receive social security payments are also complaining that their payments have been cut way too much ... and some of them who depend on the payments for their daily life are hurting, to say the least.

i don't think an election would be so cut and dry, as there could be a backlash against both the tax increase and the reneging on the original DJP platform.
on the other hand, without the upper house, there was no way to push the tax bill through, and there is no way that the LDP would support putting an end to amakudari and other reforms.
so it's a mess, but if noda simply stays on as pm after the tax bill passes, i gather that means that he won't be able to push through reforms, as he must have compromised them in the deal on the tax increase.
in a snap election, would voters interested in the original DJP platform vote for the noda or ozawa faction?
if there is no election, ho does noda get anything else accomplished? the DJP is basically meaningless after the deal on the tax increase.

Haters gonna hate but the fact is that Ozawa is correct - DPJ was elected on a platform of cutting the government waste first and foremost BEFORE raising taxes..under Noda DPJ became just a shadow of LDP - virtually indistinguishable ... Think what you like about Ozawa but his argument that DPJ has betrayed its manifesto and the ideals that got it elected is fundamentally correct.

Right on, marcelito. At least Ozawa STILL respects the party's original principles--people's lives first! The DPJ under Noda had made a mess of things including restarting two N-plants, angering the people who were against them!
If Mr Ozawa and his chums DO leave the DPJ AND get kicked out, Noda's toast!
And I hope his new party will be a libertarian one. 'Cause the way the J-Govt is now, Japan needs one!

All the little children are at it again. Wasting citizens money by extending the Diet session when many citizens are on the dole while Diet members make sure that they get additional paychecks. Ozawa need to shit or get off the potty. He threatens all year to form his only party. Do it.
