    He already seems to be way more engaged with the public outside of Japan than any other Japanese leader I have experienced. Unless you count Koizumi's visit to Graceland. Given the "lack of experience" of Minshuto, it seems like they at least seem to be making on honest effort to do a good job. However, it is still very early days.

    Yep, I`m starting to see why. He has charm, personality, vivacity, an interest in the world beyond Japan, a PhD from an internationally renowned non-Japanese univerity, an interesting if eccentric wife, fresh ideas, energy and the beginnings of a transparent, modern government.

    No wonder they think he is completely different to them!
