I think the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki count for very little in the international pecking order, very few people will be taking notice.

Don's these mayors realize that this is about nuclear energy? India already has Nuclear weapons. THey have for a long time.

Don't be fooled. Who ever cries "victim!" the loudest gets voted mayor of hiroshima and gov. nagasaki. That's what its about. they are above all politicians, and politicians will say whatever they think people want to hear in order to get elected. Very, very rarely is that not the case.

Playing the victim card is the oldet trick in the book to get votes.

Why India does not sign on NPT. Why India earlier used nuclear fuel for nuclear test? Very soon Iran and North Korea also demand for the nuclear fuel in the name of peaceful use. If U.S. try to stop Iran and North Korea, than Russia will help them in the name of peaceful use. Even Pakistan already started to demand for it. Who can stop Russia? Dirty business.

People, who are happy with this deal, will come to know the drawbacks in the coming year. India will suffer with the high cost of manufacturing electricity by nuclear fuel. America will suffer, as it cannot stop Iran and North Korea after this nuke trade waiver for India.

Hiroshima, Nagasaki chiefs have the right to regret on this deal. Japan supports India without condition of NPT. Now Japan cannot stop North Korea for its nuclear program. Double face of Japanese diplomacy can harm Japan's image in the world.

The most serious part of the US-India trade waiver is that the Japanese government supports it. It becomes increasingly apparent that Japan will soon agree to an agreement with the U.S. to support the deployment of U.S. nuclear weapons on the home islands or worse develop their own nuclear weapons. This support for the U.S.-India trade waiver is another step for the current Japanese administration to erode Article 9 of the constitution. If Article 9 is dropped we can expect to see the development of a preemptive strike force in the Japanese military as well as the introduction of nuclear weapons. These are critical issues that reach far beyond U.S.-INDIA-JAPAN relations. Anything less than a nuclear free world brings all nations and all living beings minutes closer to the Doomdsday Clock.
