Obama is scheduled to visit Japan from Nov 12 to 13 but is expected to visit neither of the two cities due to scheduling conflicts

Then let him reschedule his schedule.

    why ?

What for? so they can see another ugly, J-town? Not like their mere location holds any major message for current nuclear lunatics....

Are these mayors also in favor of Japan's leaders visiting Korea, Nanjing, China, the Philippines, Burma, etc. where Japan's Imperial Army committed horrendous atrocities in their goal of Asian colonization? The war was bad for everyone, but it was 60+ years ago. I get a little tired of some-- not all- Japanese playing the 'victim' card because they were nuked.

I agree Japan should abandon the "we are the peace-loving victims" routine and move on. The deaths caused by the nukes do not exceed those caused by Japan's rampage in Nanking alone over a mere 6 weeks.

    I think I smell a badly conceived Olympic bid soaked in radioactive self-pity . . .

Well I am glad that they not only went to the US Embassy but included China in their visit. Funny how the US and USSR and China have massive nuclear arsenals, but have the sense not to readily use them to solve the many conflicts they have been in since 1950. If they want to get any real traction, stop by Pakistan, Israel, along with North Korea and India and Iran and ask them to visit to see what nukes do. If they have them, at least let them know that they probably really don't want to use them bu visiting those cites. But I agree they do need to get off the "innoncent nuke" platform.

Yeah, but they've been rebuilt so it kinda takes the drama out of the event. In all seriousness going to the Atomic Bomb museum in Nagasaki is truly an eye opening experience.

combinibento - It seems I am a much more naiv person, because I got only a "That, of course, is irrelevant to this discussion." moderation for the same comment.

Anyway, lets make our bets if any mayor will got shoot again by some peace-friendly Japanese, for they talking too much about the responsibility of the emperor in the wwii.

YG Home: Then let him reschedule his schedule.

Why should he? To please a second rate nation masquerading as a first rate nation. Do you really think Hiroshima or Nagasaki rank on Obama's top 10 list? Would you? No, you'd just just do the general hand shaking assigned and go on your way. Just like Obama WILL DO.

Unless you really have the emotional maturity of a 12 year old and think world leaders hold these two cities in such esteem.
