TOKYO —
Indian Foreign Minister S. M. Krishna will visit Japan from Thursday for talks with his Japanese counterpart Hirofumi Nakasone on regional and global issues, as well as on how to enhance their bilateral ties, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said Monday.
During his four-day visit, the Indian minister is also expected to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso, the ministry said in its press release. It will be the first visit to Japan by an Indian minister since Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh named his new Cabinet in May, it said.

India need to have closer ties with Japan, invite N225 companies to build up India's economy with N225.
India should not break ranks and leave the ship.
India should stay on the ship of economic progress .
They should role model China's organised rise with Big Japan's N225.

I dont think India can partner with Japan. There is a fundamental flaw and the Indian work Ethic is the center of the problem. Japan started a new life in 1945 and India did in 1947. Look at the gap. I dont think Japan should waste its time

neganip-Indian work ethic is the flaw, your are right. Just look at the conditions of highway there, you already know this. India also is not united like China via one language Mandarin. China also is learning english far quicker than India.
They need to unite Indians more via one unity language.
They also should be building more unity via more unity national projects and increase work ethics among indians.
Only when fundamental flaws decrease, will investment flow big, like in more organised China . High work ethic China,is getting more investments due these flaws.
India Ministers, should listen to criticisms, and come down from high horses.

The article says: Indian Foreign Minister not Finance Minister will be visiting Japan that too without any fixed agenda. He may witness Aso's new Cabinet or dissolution of Diet on Thursday...!

have you been to india? the language of the middle class is english, many of the poor need english for the work opportunities it offers. i seem to remember something about it being a british colony at one point...
the same is not true of china. also bear in mind that china is a one-party state. perhaps the one advantage of such a system is that no time need be wasted on discussion...

China is not a fair comparison because they are closer to eclipsing Japan. India is better compared to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and now maybe Vietnam. I still think that the country is too far gone to be any kind of investment destination. For those of us who have one lifetime and a productive 30 years or so left (i.e. investment managers) India is not attractive. Indians are !
