Making a big fuss about the abductees in North Korea always seems to be a favourite tactic for politicians like Ishihara to make everyone forget they're useless at just about everything.

Hi! I'm Shintaro Ishihara! You might remember me from such TV shows as "60-18,60-19,4-20s! あれ? I'm French and Can't Count!" or "Foreigners, Foreigners Everywhere, Now Let's All Have Them Deported!"

If there are still surviving abductees I am pretty sure they won't hear the message because the signal will be blocked or they don't have a radio in the first place.

Ah yes, the famous "Abductees" - A.K.A. the unwilling recipients of the Japanese government study abroad program. How else is such specific information known about the abductees, given there was zero public evidence to say they were even abducted? How many people in Japan go missing every year? And it just happens that those few suspected by the government of being abducted were, in fact, abducted? We're supposed to believe this?
