This means nothing. It's a gesture on the part of China to strengthen it's ties with Japan "right now and today" while it's image in the West
is seriously tarnished. A couple of years from now if it;s convenient, they'll be on the anti-Japan bandwagon again. The demonstrations of 2005
as well as China's yasukuni whining were all in violation of the Sino-Japanese Friendship Treaty of 1972 and 1978, but that meant nothing to China. So why should this mean anything now?
They are arguing semantics...like little children they are. WWII was over many years ago. When are you going to catch up to the rest of the civilized world?
No worries, Chinese fans will make sure Japan "reflects" on their past during the olympics, from the opening ceremony throughout the Japanese athlete's performances! All that pent up anger and frustration from being on the whipping end of protests the world over, these Chinese fans are lustily awaiting the Japanese athletes. Interestingly though, the world media and others (especially here on JT) will side with the Chinese fans for this one case where they are booing and throwing trash at the Japanese fans. Double standards all the time.
If the people of China living within China and people of China living abroad that support these aggressive acts of the Chinese against others, things may take a turn and rightfully so, where the international community will gradually stand against the Chinese and begin a backlash of aggression towards the people from China where those abroad may have to turn around and run for home where they belong. These acts by the Chinese people against others and their stance supporting the communist leaders is not a very welcome face to the international community as it is and then start attacking those that are of open societies that have a voice and of an open society may cause a reaction China and its people will not care for even more later than what they do not care for today. When standing up against those that are free and of rights, the aggressive rants by the Chinese people towards others outside should be focused towards those that have and still are suppressing the people within China itself, which is the communist rulers that keeps the people silent without a voice. The one way street where the Chinese can express hatred outward is just the very problem all notices while somehow Chinese do not have the backbone or unity within its society to have a say against the wrongs within their own country and no ability to speak out against the self empowered leaders that keep the people under thumb.
Why do Chinese lash out at others that have fought for their (Chinese ) rights instead of lashing out towards those that keep the basics rights from being practiced by the people of China???
good we've been there and done that. How about something substantive on trade, patent enforcement, product safety etc. Let's quit spinning our wheels as neither party is clean (Japan for its war time agression and China for everything after)
I do know one thing, all in the past that have involved in wars do not stay under such scrutiny like Japan's neighbors are keeping Japan under. I think this is entirely wrong by those that are trying to keep such hatred alive when the people of today in Japan are not the people that ruled Japan back at that time. They should not be held responsible for the past, and those that want to keep this going I believe should again be punished for such prejudice that is unfair to the people of Japan.
Besides, this issue used by China is the ONLY used to create nationalism in China to favor and only favor the communist rulers of China. What a crock!!!!!!
Let’s hope these communist leaders of China pay dearly for this type of propaganda and hatred they turn on and off within the society of China! Plus these leaders of China should also pay for using threats about trade to get others to support their hideous stance on this matter.
