Removing NKorea from the Terrorist sponsor list isn't going to get
rid of the sanctions that are still in place. And the one that's hurting
NKorea the most are the financial ones.
GOOD! Finally, Japan agrees to talk BI-LATERALLY on a bi-lateral issue. I just hope the J-government shuts up about the issue during the 6-nation denuclearization talks; it's not at all relevant, and only damaging to Japan as a nation, and the talks in general.
I only hope some progress can be made on the issue. I highly doubt it, as NKorea will be stubborn as ever, and Japan will have to bring a lot to the table if it wants anything (and they too are being stubborn, so won't).
I understand why, but Japan needs to realize that the 6way talks is VERY close to a UNSC negotiations. Ramifications are obvious, ne? So, whoever is calling the shots on this better think real hard on promoting Japan for a permanent seat on the UNSC. There are influential people watching/analyzing.

Looks like progress on a bi-lateral level. Looks like China has been leaning on NKorea.

It will be irony if US removes NK from list of nations sponsoring terror on same day i.e. 11th Aug. 2008
