Can you fire food, and other things people need up there? Sounds like a waste of money. But, if they want to get into the business of selling it to other countries, to make money, I see their point.
A ban to NK is a inhumane thing, only the very weak will feel it: the children won´t have enough food. And the inside propaganda will blame US and Japan for the famine coming, the same way the NK government blamed US for the lack of food in the mid 1990s, and the devotees of the dictator believed him, not informed enought to know that drought was the cause of it.
What makes you think the food aid being sent to NK now is being given to the weak and the children?

Nothing. But I would like to believe that those sad images of sobbing toddlers starving to death could never happen again, while in the official supermarkets they had fancy biscuits available - thru the black market.
let NK test more nukes means less they have in their arsenal, pressure china to impose sanctions navel blockade and prepare for war, NK had their chances and they keep say F U time to play hard ball or if all neighboring nations agree Nuke em. Sooner the regime is brought down the better off NK's will be.

It's no secret that the NK military takes the food aid. This is perfectly legal and correct in their minds because NKoroea has a Songun (Military First) system of priority. All efforts by the West to get NKorea to allow
observers and inspectors to enter NKorea to ensure the food aid gets to the people have been rejected. So the military take the food then blame it all on the United States. This is an evil regime that really needs to be taken out.
In the immortal words of Mr. Spock,
"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".
If lives have to be lost, lets make it as few as possible.
Lets take the Dear Leader out and any who wish to
follow him. It doesn't have to mean erasing NK from
the map. However, I would rather see the majority of casualties
come from within NK as opposed to being spread across
northern Asia as would be the result of an all out war.
-add note* I hope that everyone who disagrees with this option
and prefers the waiting game is at least within the range of
NK's missiles.
The only real way to take out NK with the fewest number of casualties is for China to launch a surprise attack that captures the launch sites before NK can get a missile ready to go. Then you have to get to the nukes and make sure that none go missing. SK and the US have to be ready to be the anvil for the Chinese hammer. The US, China & Japan have to blockade NK to keep any ships or subs out.
It's not that straightforward and a lot can go wrong. But NK's having a working bomb is a nightmare if it is exported. NK has made a huge mistake this time.
The arrogance attitude of Japan showing to her neighbours was the cause of today's tensions in north east asia! It was Japan's faults that triggared hatred from neighbours that finally put her own in extreme dangers! They will never learn but blaming the others!
China shall never attack North Korea but praising North Korea's well done of job! China is the mafia boss that dressing in texido and North Korea were the boys to do those dirty jobs!

Bingo! What EU has done in the last 30 years, Asia had 5,000 years of history to do. Japan and China could have set the pace, now it´s somehow a little lit late.
Sanctions north Korea shall never solving the problem! It was a show of arrogances that will pay a dear price! The tensions betweern north Korea and Japan was history reasons not economy! North Korea was targeting Japan instead of ROK!
I think the North Koreans are bored to death. Perhaps if you'd send them PlayStations or books of sudoku puzzles they would loose interest in launching inaccurately guided missiles into the sea.

What I still can't understand is why Japan still trades with N.Korea...?
And they still have that N.Korean ferry that still docks weekly in Tottori pref.
Ok, your going to reduce your exports, how about STOPPING ALL TRADE, like every other western nation.
There's not many "civilized" countries that still do business with kim ill.
