This is an interesting development, I wonder what else each country can bring to the table? I understand that Turkey has been aggressive in courting the far east and already has ties with Japan, but why this tightening of the ties...? Just speculation, but I would guess that One, Turkey has oil for Japan, and Two, they seem to be opening their markets to more foreign investment which, with their strong re-emerging market, makes it an attractive arena for Japanese investors. They both belong to the UN so I wonder if they have mutual goals in mind or will agree to vote in each other's favor on up-coming issues. More leverage against Russia, perhaps...? I wonder what are the other factors between these two countries...?
