I can by no means speak for everyone but how about we include Japanese snacks, looking mostly at Kit Kats and Premium hi Chew included on this trade deal, maybe some warm vending machine companies too. I really miss getting a drink from those on my way home.
On a more serious note I'm glad things are moving along, however slow it's still progress.

I am on pins and needles about this. Anyone have any facts about the effects of TPP on Japan's national healthcare?
Big Pharma's introduction into Japan would be a major blow to the system...hope Japan manages to keep foreign insurance companies out... :(

Exactly WHAT "progress" was made?
What KEY DIFFERENCES remain?
WHY is this all being conducted in SECRECY?

Japan must recognize that promises without performance are simply unacceptable. It's time to put business back on the fast track.

Food processing Japanese companies are already in USA. Ramen were made in California by Nisshin Food subsidiaries. Nisshin is owned by Shoda family in Tokyo. The family of Japanese Empress for more than at least her age. Then kikkoman instant tofu soup from San Francisco, Nori (seaweed packages, and many instant soups, too. So, it is about time Japan will ease rice and other farm products, turkey, beef so that Japanese people can have protein instead of whale meat. How about Atlantic Sea food? Oysters, delicious fish?:

Japan has to remain strong if you flood japan with rice, then you really think farmers who already can hardly make it can stay afloat......
on top of that, japan has high standards for GMO and other things, I highly doubt that the u.s. will respect Monsanto cancer rice coming.....
I lost all respect for the u.s. when they refused to abide from the court ruling that said you cant tax canadian lumber and they still did, when it goes against free trade, they only care when its their side.
remember the 1800s do you really want to sell your people out, the only people saying this is great are the u.s., "help America" they don't care about japan or its economy or interests, look what they did with russia forced them to sanction when they just signed a LNG deal.......

Why is America bothering still with Japan? Let them have their rice-rattle, America. You should be pushing into China and not wasting your time with stale, old nationalistic Japan.
