Under the Bush administration the US took it's eye off of East and moved it to the oil rich middle east and suffered for it.

This allowed the PRC and it's servant nations to running rampid and causing all forms of problems for weaker nations.

But thankfully under the present administration the US has refocused it efforts to help weed the thuggish PRC out of those weaker nations and bring back civility to the region.

Maybe after Japan gets rid of Article 9 it too can help police the region and help to protect the weaker nations from the PRC aggressions.

What hypocrisy? Obama and his cronies are only interested in their economic interests in Asia, especially TPP. They are using Senkaku card to bowed the Japan and defend the interests of U.S. companies in the region.

Kerry forget to mention that US is too broke to foot the bill for rebalancing Asia. Even his pay check comes from PRC funding.

Astounding arrogance here! A small ruling class of plutocrats among their 330 M poor in America have decided that they alone have the power to "rebalance' Asia - 7000 M people, and even the Chinese Superpower to which these Americans owe a "balance of power" in debts a controlling interest, a power over, their U.S. Dollar? The seven in the Chinese communist politburo, intelligent beings of course, will hardly notice this "Bull Shit Storm" to be played before the home audience as a propagandists tool to hold office, seem fertile and not impotent, and to be used as a grounds for huge personal wage, and retirement benefits? Ah! the Parade! The strutting Yankee Doodle at his very best! We all love a Parade!

Again? seems like they are continually reaffirming their Asia policies, but nothing ever comes of it beyond annoying North Korea and killing people in AfPak.

@Bruce Miller - I get the angst, I really do. But given the choice of living under US hegemony and Chinese (CCP) hegemony, which do you think most Asian nations (and people) would choose? Honestly, it's a no-brainer.
