Hopefully this will lead to resolution for this thorny issue.

The thorns went out if this issue a long time ago with the return of the surviving abductees.

A non issue to everyone but the Japanese and the Japanese government, by making this one of their main mantles of their foreign policy, have only helped to make Japan an irrelevence in northeast Asian international politics.

Why is she an advisor? Does she know something the government doesn't?

Could she have been part of the plot ALL ALONG?!!!11

rjd jr - what exactly would constitute "coming clean"? I think that's the main sticking point for Japan as they are only prepared to hear the truth that they want to hear.

Will expect her resignation in probably about 8 months time.

This appears to be a little give and take here. Her husband resigns but Aso owes him something so gives Kyoko a job doing...? Well, I'm sure she can whip those old North Korean generals into a frenzy of coming clean. Maybe.

I bet he will claim that the school union are the real culprits, what a waste of the taxpayers money.

They also need a special adviser or minister in-charge on issues of child killing and murder.

From the actions made by Kyoko Nakayama i can see that she has good and sincere intentions to solve this abduction issue through diplomatic and negotiation channels. But, North Korea is not willing to budge. Jang Sung Taek ( Head of North Korea's Spy Agency and Kim Jong Il's brother inlaw ) insist on Japan paying ransom money of USD 100 billion to release the Japanese citizens under North Korea's custody. There is too much old bad blood in tangle in this Japanese abduction issue. North Korea under Jang Sung Taek influence wants compensation for all the harm and pain Japan caused when North Korea was under Japan rule and the Japanese citizens are the bait being used to get that compensation. The question here is whether Prime Minister Taro Aro will give Kyoko Nakayama the financial leverage to negotiate or just cut her wings and tied her down to the desk and wait for North Korea to come back to the negotiation table ?????
